Xbox 360 playing fine for ages all of a sudden it wont boot properly loads up the 360 splash screen and just freezes dead and wont respond until you press the power button and turn it off. I tried it about 10 times and i think once out of the 10 times it got past the splash screen and then froze lol

theres no error codes no lights nothing, I don't think that this is a heat issue you can leave the console off for days and the same thing happens, I have had a few 360s now and only ever gotten rrod so this is a new one on me.

anyone else had this problem? and has anyone managed to fix it lol

Oh edit, i took it apart and ran it open it crashes when the heatsincs are only just starting to get warm so im thinking its def not a heat issue

But I have cleaned all the heatsincs off applied new thermal paste the console has upgraded fans in, put it all back together and does the same thing 30 seconds after booting it freeze, so unless anybody has any other ideas it looks like its another 360 for the bin :(

Its early signs of RROD, follow a RROD fix guide and it will sort it

i think its actually software thats crashing it, i just had it running (after clearing the systems cache) for ages with no problems, just rebooted it and connected it to live and its like update needed ok so i update reboot and now its crashed again

now when i reboot it its saying please update if i choose no it tries to load up the dash and crashes straight away however if i dont select anything it will stay there on that screen no problem and if i choose update it downloads the update just wont install it for some reason

oh and Ive done all the usual rrod fixes already

If clearing the cache didn't sort it, then its signs of RROD.

Do the RROD fix and Im sure it will stop it crashing, takes less then an hour

Also, try it without the hard drive and see what happens.
