Me me me!

Have to stick to Falkens at this rate cos of the way the outside edges get worn at Knockhill!

Must say, the Falkens (512's) certainly heated up nicely and gave me a fair degree of grip - none too shabby for a cheap option.

They are taking bookings for 50 cars on 12th August. I'm the 3rd person to have booked so there are currently 47 places left. But, get in early since they said they could have booked 3rd June 3x over! Cost £50. See you there ... vroooommmmmmmm :wack:

JonnySpeedbump
10-06-2003, 20:51
Martin, I've not had confirmation either mate.....

Dunc, I'll let you know when my t28 arrives (if it does :( )
so you can book up. The t25 WILL be yours for the July meet at Livi' ;) (or before if you fancy a drive down to Glasgow :p ).

Just a thought, this is deffo' a 'prestige' car event (or whatever they called it) isn't it? Just don't fancy goin round the track with dozens of BB capped Nova boys gettin' in me way   !

Thats a shame, I thought it was about the right volume of cars last time. It was a bit hectic at some points even at that IMO!

IMO, our 200's (no offense intended) were the cheapest in terms of value of the bunch so there's no worries about the BB cap brigade.

Waits for flaming.......

I'll know by this weekend, probably. Have you tried Knockhill for a place? They will let me defer my place for another date so I won't loose my £49.97!

TBH mate, I'd rather postpone so I can get the car run in properly, only done 80 miles since the rebuild.
I'm still running a standard fuel pump and chip atm too.... the last thing I want is to det the arse off her after being off the road for sooooooo long ;) .

I'll be there at 5:00 ish. My wife says if I break it I walk to work!! So that'll make no difference to my driving then! I'll be offering some free rides for those that wont take their car on - just ask

Kev
13-08-2003, 03:25
i had a great time, and didnt break anything.

woo hooo!
tyres took a pounding, as did oil and brakes, but was a good night, and faired alot better than two months ago, suspension sooooooooo much better.

Kev

ps, dunc, thuinder, where were u?

Mike
13-08-2003, 07:14
well done Kev! my tyres, brakes and exhaust manifold gaskets are feeling worse for wear but I dont have to walk to work today! A fun event but a bit too demanding on the car. I think I'll stick to Crail from now on!

dunc
13-08-2003, 07:49
Sounds good guys, I kept forgetting to book a place. Was it busyier than last time then?

tDR
13-08-2003, 09:52
I didn't book a place either, partly because of that 10k+ value thing and also I'm going on hol soon and don't wanna take the risk of having to spend money on the '2. I'm nursing the clutch as it is (won't take hard launches anymore, fine with normal driving) and the pads don't have much left on em. Plus I got another service to do which I'd have to bring forward. Sad I couldn't go though, I love it :(

I got a lot of financial outlay at the mo, need to get myself sorted out, sell the Supras, buy a flat / house and then decide what I wanna do or can afford car wise.

Any memorable '****wit' moments from last night then? Were you on the pace?

Kev
13-08-2003, 14:14
i went off a couple of times, once with kenny in the car, and once with Davie, kennys mate, but was col, just slid off, kicked up a load of dust and slid back on again:D :D

Mike when u wanna arrange to get the stuff sorted?

Migght be worth taking a 14mm spanner to the mani studs as they sometimes need re-tightened after a couple of days (should have told u that) and that may sort the blowing gaskets.

mad k
13-08-2003, 17:54
cheers for taking me out kev was good going round the track, even enjoyed coming off the track and seeing that wall getting closer, next time i go on i think il put my crash helmit on back to front though:p

ive got some pics here of you going round the track il send them over to you.

kenny.

Mike
13-08-2003, 20:33
Kev - I'll have a go at fixing stuff... I need to:
- swap tyres back to front
- fit new redstuff (just ordered from Kenny's work)
- tighten manifold
- take it easy a while!!!

Mike
16-08-2003, 18:01
today I....

- fitted two new exh manifold gaskets and a downpipe to turbo gasket because the old ones had blown so much they had eroded away! Must remember to fix any leaks when they occur!
- swapped tyres around
- checked one-way walves
- checked rear pads
- fitted Kevsport alternator belt tightening device
- washed my car

...not bad eh Kev?

I hope to fit new front Redstuff on Monday, if they arrive http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53060
