View Full Version : hooking up xbox to lcd pc monitor

hey all i used to run my xbox in the back room on my pc monitor when the missus was watchin her crap on tv etc, but have no idea what i did etc iv got the dvi in lcd samsung monitor, all i get is no signal come up on the screen when its plugged in but i think im missing a cable of some sort or even a plug for the hdmi port.

anyone run like this i could do with finding out again so i can go on it more frequently thanks . did u have to buy anything special.

what type of monitor is it? what are you using to connect it up now?

you could get a VGA cable for the 360 and hock it up that way.

Or get a HDMI to DVI cable if you have the newer xbox with HDMI out.

iv got a hdmi-dvi cable but it wont work . can u get hdmi-vga.

monitor is a syncmaster932b samsung

my tv wont show the picture unless i have selected the correct resolution on the xbox first. (i run xbox vga cable)

Revo- monitor has a button on it like source on a tv analogue/digital thought that was enough

MaccyD- i cant select the resolution as i get no screen atall just black or can can i selewct it on my tv then swap it over and it will work .

yeh, i think thats how i worked it. i just went for the closest to what my screen is, so a widescreen with approx 720 lines, im pretty sure this will sort it out as my screen was just black before i sorted it.

sorted it guys ordered one of them cables in the link above from ebay £4 ftw
