gotta be piston halves I'd have thought.
Did the lotus guy get billed for the cement?
Apparently you drop fluids at Nurburgring it costs you dearly.
I kind of guessed at pistons - bit battered aren't they!!
Not sure if the guy got charged or not - probably did - they had to discharge a few fire extinguishers too...

jesus christ what a mash up!!i hope he gets a new car on his warranty - no car should explode like that when fairly new - have u seen how fresh the oil is?it looks like factory running in oil - u very usually associate that heavy engine damage with that lightly coloured oil!!

It says at the bottom that he mis-shifted to 2nd from red line in 5th, I don't think any engine, old or new could take that.
Personally, i wouldn't expect any kind of compensation for that happening if this was the case
This one I AM moving ;)
Poor honda :(
Those RSX's are bloody nice cars.
The guy should get this award:

Didn't a guy from Autocar, or Autosport (Auto something anyway) do exactly the same thing when test driving the XJ220 when it was released? Bet Jaguar were very pleased with him!

They are pretty strict there, that's for sure.
