Does anyone remember when the Fiat Coupe BB was down and they decided to hijack the rat BB?

Oh, I do remember someone asking how to crotchet something to be the same shape as his car. The poor dears were falling over themselves to give him advice!:D
Yeah - seems some bastid hacked the server
Not sure if they were going for us or FiestaTurbo.com (whom we share the server with), but the end result was the same - root access through a (now hopefully fixed) vunerability.
The bastid then uploaded pretty much any DoS tool you care to name, and started using the server to attack other places  - which due to the 'not slow' connection the server was on meant were were chuffing out over 90 megabit/sec of traffic at one point!
This was naturally noticed virtually immediately, and the port the server sits on was disabled so as to stop said hacker :finger:
Server has now been patched, cleaned, patched, cleaned, patched and cleaned again, and hopefully we should be alright.
I shall be posting the IP of the hacker later, just in case anyone wants to return the favour ;)
Completely offtopic.
Be thankful I'm not closing the thread and moving it instead
Thanks

This is why you shouldn't use vunerable unix / windows servers, use a secure operating system

Nah - me shutting things down as I try things. Will probably flicker up and down for a bit as I sort things out.
