a few guys that used to ride with us got into rallying, dont get something turbo'd or fragile, you will break it! They started off in Novas and pug gti's (309). Some of the early volvos were fairly popular aswell. I think they got into by going to a few stages, chatting to people and then they got a few lessons from the guys that were regulars.
I'd love to have a go one day but im pretty sure it aint cheap! and i have no place to keep a rally car:wack:
I did once get a passenger ride around a special stage at Newnham Park in plymouth in a pug 309 GTI, was ace, soooo much lift off and handbrake induced oversteer:)
6r4. Do i need to say any more???
Shame they are about £zillion :wack:

Micra, 205GTi, Nova
Check www.msauk.org as they are the governing body. Get a copy of the blue book (Do this now) as this is the bible of how events are run etc. Don't forget that there are various classes etc. Start in a 4 wheel drive and you will be up against the subaru's, evo's etc even in group N (Standard as they come) get a cheep cheerful 2 wheeler to play with, even fully prepped they aren't THAT expensive
god you are allllllllll wrong get a good mk2 escort 4 door and a nice pinto
buy something you can get parts for easily enough and that is easy to work on.
The pug route seems ideal, the internet is full of spares for them, and the engines seem pretty bombproof
REAR WHEEL DRIVE
Do it proper or don't bother at all.

i watched the blackpool stages with a yellow pulsar owned by tony bardy rip it up blackpool ranked 1st at the end of it .
The Sunny that won the NW Stages was an Ex Works car...
The car all depends on your budget. TBH FWD is always a good starting point as they are generally cheaper to run, and easier to drive whilst you build some experience.
106GTi? Saxo VTS? Both are light, handle well, have reasonable power and have parts readily available.
If your only thinkin of doing tarmac rallying, then why not a 200??

where i live its all offroad stuff, plus the 200`s guna be a track/drift toy so best of both worlds :D
god you are allllllllll wrong get a good mk2 escort 4 door and a nice pinto
what he said!
when i get it through its MOT i will be putting my Toyota celica ST205 WRC up for sale if you want it :)
Got me thinking about starting down my way. Car wise, id really like to use an S12 or S13. However id consider a Golf GTI/Pug GTI.
