news from yesterday here (http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5-demo-hits-december-17/) that a new GT5 demo single track will be available for download on PSN on the 17th.
That should help with the wait

Awesome. I've managed to mis-place my Prologue disk so trying to wait until the actual game is released rather than replacing it. A demo will certainly help!
il down load it probably, but im bored with waiting now so its not a top priority game any more.

apparently its the all new GT5 physics and not prologue system, and at the moment it looks like the track will be Indy infield and them possibly another track in March which could be Spa
I suppose I better start playing Prologue as i have just bought it :wack:
Wow... another demo...
Just hurry up and release the full game FFS, this is beyond a joke now! :annoyed:
It better be a lot better than prologue though, after all this time

Another track in march????? i thought it was out in feb, please please don't tell me it's been put back again:mad:
Starting to get a bit of joke now, i think it's since forza 3 got released sony have now realised that it's not gonna be as good apart from the sheer number of cars... and i own a ps3 and xbox so im not being biased.
See what the 17th brings then:thumbs:
I gave up on this game ages ago :(
I might enter the comp!
Its a shame they don't have a drift comp :wack:
There's going to be a tuned version of a 370z and a normal version of the car I think.
I've gotten bored of GT5P and gone back to GT4 - the graphics may be rubbish but it's still fun and doesn't look that bad upscaled on my PS3 :D
I will be downloading this as soon as it's available though

 at the wait. This is the only game that would tempt to me buy a PS3.
This should be ready by the time the PS4 is announced. I know they want to get it bang on a polished, but surely they're pissing off the core fans by now... it was announced at E3 in 2006.
Mind you when it does finally ship, everyone can race round the great track of them all - the Top Gear test track :D

Time to get on the download :)

had a quick go this morning, managed to get to 28 combined ranking but dont think it will stay there for long.
my only criticism is that my one takes an age to go between menu's and cant find a way to switch off TC.
the standard car is ok but the tuned car is very good :D
Well after 7 laps I'm 89th with the standard car now on to the tuned version :)
I think it works by taking an average time for both cars, so you have to use both. Only thing is you cant turn the traction control off on the standard car, so you have to just roll through the corners and then power out once its reasonably straight.
Edit: just checked, your 36th now.
Edit 2: 72nd, lots of people posting times now.
Only thing is you cant turn the traction control off on the standard car
:ghey:
how does it feel compared to gt5p ? also is it running 1080P
is it free LOL it should be but i bet its not LOL and as above whats it like ?
I swear someone has welded the diff on my car... I am really struggling with this.:annoyed:
Of course its 1080p, that just a silly question :wack:
It feels very similar to gt5p but with subtle differences, although I cant explain, you'll just have to give it a go :)

Well i've only tried the race car, but i like
Seems more refined than prologue, crisper, sounds awesome with the sub on a bit, lovely engine note. Drives really well (but that could just be cos its a race car) - no stupid throwing you into walls at 120mph on slight bends (yes, TC is totally off ;))
Now to step into the road car... maybe i should have done it the other way around :wack:
Wish we could drift this track in the race 370 :( too much grip on the sport tyres, far too controlled :D
downloaded this yesterday, if this is like the final version of gt5 i feel a bit disappointed, think the car handling is a bit nicer than prologue but generally the same, ive pretty much lost interest now weve been waiting so long

its not the final version of GT5 (no damage no tyre smoke etc) but the car physics are based on GT5 and not prologue.
ive noticed that on the first lap the tyres seem cold and understeery but once warmed up are ok

best lap so far in the tuned car is 1m44 :D
I like it.
The road vertion with its traction control is rubbish but the race vertion is much better
got a 1.41. something

I had a 1.43 with the tuned, but that's with a fair amount of sideways action..
I will be trying to beat no1s ghost replay. Yep you can download other peoples ghost replays:nod:

hope uv got a steering wheel etc, as it shows what controller they used etc, im sure no1 is on a sterringwheel with shifter etc
I sold my prologue game as I thought it was terrible. I used to really like Gran Turismo as well. Grid is a far better game IMO

No. 1 was using a wheel with a sequential shifter when i looked yesterday. Cannot get it under 1.43!
i might try my wheel and shifter after the pad, just d/l'in now
i got a 1.41.423 (i think) second lap in now cant beat it :wack: Race car is nice. Pretty hard to keep it neat in the corners with the controller, just wants to oversteer everywhere for me lol.
Would imagine with a decent steering wheel and pedals (G25 or similar) it'd be fairly easy to knock a couple seconds off that time just by being able to keep it neat and progressively put the power down :D
i did a 1,40.7 last night using the pad and automatic gears, when the real game comes out i might have to invest in a decent wheel n pedals to shave times down, my crappy wireless fcuked up so my online best didnt update either which although i was outside the top100 by miles, is still annoyin
think i was ranked 4317 :wack:

sorry dude i meant No.1 as in number 1, like you meant:),
Going to get this downloading today.... hoping for big things for all this waiting.
It's been a good job that I've had Forza to keep me going.

1:42.2 here, ranked 6500 odd :wack:
i've long forgotten about this money spinner.
i own a ps3 and not an xbox, but now i'm on the hunt for a good car game, i find myself contemplating buying an xbox for forza rather then waiting for gt5.
i didnt really like grid,
it's okay for a quick blast or whatever but online is shite.
and i never really liked the need for speed series.
of all the GT games, i think number 2 was the best. poor as the graphics where back then, the gameplay was far better.
just popped in a 1.40.017 am well happy with that :D
Can definately do better, few slides out of the tight niggly section and still havent perfected that very difficult 3rd corner
How someones got a 1.36 ill never know!!!
Is anyone else dissappointed with the graphics?
I've only had a quick go, but it looks awful, even compared to GT5P.
cracked in a 1.40.5 earlier, think ill be at my limit in the 1.39's, top 100+ are all using steering wheels which makes us seem slow.
im pretty disappointed with the graphics, cars look nice but the track looks a bit bright/ cartooney <<< dont know if thats the right word but somethings not quite right

Yeah, i'm into the 1.40's not sure I can get it much better with a controller. Definatley, lots of areas to improve on but to hang a whole lap together just ain't happening.
Funny you should say about the graphics. My very first impression was "Looks a bit 'arcade-y'??" Couldn't put my finger on why but something is wrong. Think the colours (the grass in particular) is all a bit too vivid.

Exactly that. To me the GT5P graphics were very 'matt' and true to form. This version seems very vivid and over-exposed. Was very disappointed with it, but the physics were good :P

1.38.7 lads :D
thats a dam good time, u using normal controller?
im onto a g25 now, got a 1.40 with the controller but was very difficult to get progressive power down, now im on the g25 its far easier to keep light power mid corner and progressive out. Still tricky but easier. Couple places i can improve its just pulling a lap together lol
cool, thats the big stuggle for me i cant progressive throttle and lose all the time with the back end sliding,
if the final game is actually any good, i gotta invest in a wheel n pedals for sure

These are not the Graphics you will see in the full GT5 as Pholophony have mentioned a few times that the physics are going to be the same and not the graphics. Also dont forget this is NOT a demo of GT5 but something made up for the GT Acedemy.
Anyway some interesting times from the man himself.
In the normal car version he got 1:50.080
and the current GT Acedemy winner Lucas Ordonez got a time of 1′37.499 in
the tuned version.
My overall placing i think was 298 and probably changed since Saturday i bet.
after about an hour or so of playing last night got it to a 1.38.2ish i think possibly a little quicker.
Still plenty of places to make time up tho, its bringing it all together!!!

Ive only been playing the tuned one for the time being, but that changed 3 times in the space of about 5 hours last night :wack:
Admitidly only by thousands/hundredths of a second at a time but still
They should really have two league tables; one for people using Sixaxis/Dualshock 3 and one for all the people who are cheating :wack:

I imagine they're hoping the people who have wheels are more likely to be better at controlling the real thing if they ever win the competition.
Unless the GT4 car has a dualshock for a steering wheel :P
Although I still agree, I want a G25 more than I want my own testicles but it's xmas, so only the lucky fcukers who already have one are likely to do any decent lap times.
I managed a 1.38.712 in the tuned car on the first day with the pad, could probably go a little bit quicker but not much...loving the new physics:thumbs:
I have just purchased a driving force GT wheel off play.com for a bargain £50 so I will see how I get on with that:)

That is a very good time with the pad! I must practive more. Seem to have lost patience with it - need a wheel and pedals...

im in agreement with that, thats fracking quick with the pad, i kept getting frustrated with the pad and gave up after about half hour on a 1.40 sommit. Soon as i got my mates g25 knocked a second off in the first or second lap, then spent hours whittling it down from there :wack:

Thanks! smoothness is the key:nod: unfortunately a load of people are quicker using the pad by seconds and I'm pretty much at my limit with it!:wack:
Play.com have the GT wheel for £50 with free postage:thumbs:
A friend recently purchased it and has been really impressed with it's quality
I would like a G25 or GT27 at some point in the future though...just for clutchy goodness:D
Feel free to add me on PS3 if you like-BobbySX

Well, yes, but I don't give a toss about winning (because I know I'm nowhere near good enough), I just want to see how I compare with people who are racing with the same stuff :smash:
411 overall, but that was about 4 days ago and with about 30mins to play before catching a flight.
I got a 1.41.1xx with the tuned car and that placed me at just over 1000th place :wack:
A friend has got 1.37.985 with the pad. I gave up ages ago. Didn't realise the wheels were so good now. The one i tried on GT4 was utter shite. couldn't do it at all.
Anyone entering GT Academy then?

Guessing it automatically enters you and states you ranking?? (i don't have a ps3).
On a slight off note - I had a passenger ride with last year winner Lucas Ordonez in his 350Z around Silverstone at Race Academy and he is a very good driver - great car control!
downloaded this last night rounds mums, got home thought id have a play but NOOO have to be signed in ffs, i dont care about the fricking time trial, i want to play the demo ffs.

Mine took this one step further. My internet was down, it wouldn't even leave the PS3 home screen  gave me a load error (and code) and i was like damn, the demo is corrupt :( but as soon as the internet came back up, into the game it went.... odd.
Played it but not a great deal, hate having any options on in any racing game. Gonna try a bit harder
