this is going to involve a rebore true ?

this is going to involve a rebore true ?
Not sure what this means :(
He means do you need to use larger diameter pistons as wells as a longer stroke :)
Out of curiosity, what cc does the kit give with which size piston?
Im guessing at 2.4. If i hadnt already paid for one of the apex kits i would of had one of these. I would have held off if i had known you were making them.
Look very well made.
Cheers Aj

as above mate this is difficult at the moment both this kit and apex's are the same price lol just trying to get an idea of how much work is involved to get each one in and the benefits

You dont have to use oversized pistons but it will require custom pistons to move the pin height up etc.
86.5x91mm = 2.138
87x91mm=2.162
88x91=2.21
89x91=2.26
89.5x91=2.29
90x91=2.32

im assuming that by running oversized pistons would mean that i could run even more boost though due to the larger displacement

Doesnt necessarily always mean that. If the motor has more displacement, it may take a larger exhaust housing turbo less lag for example if you are using a .86a/r turbo, it will probably come in less 150-200 rpms on a 87mm bore than a stock 86mm bore. You should also take into consideration the clearance you run between cylinder walls and piston when using stroker kits for good clearance
and for any bore over 87mm [some say 86.5] you need liners

sorry im being thick but im guessing that a slight overbore say 88 is best with this kit opposed to going for a massive piston

The factory cylinder sleeves right where the coolant passage meets always cracks under extreme heat or pressure. Sleeving it solves all those problems.
As far as bore sizes, you can go anywhere you want, you have to get custom pistons regardless. Some want to max it out, some want to leave room to play with. Either way, it will make good, useable power depending on turbo sizing.

just curiously with this kit and all the other replacement parts to do a rebuild capable of withstanding 500bhp how much am i looking at from urselves ? i was going for ur vvl head but i think this could be the better option for the time being then maybe go for vvl further down the line

The package above comes with crank, piston, rods. The only other thing you will need is bearings and pricing depends if you want standard ACL race bearings or Calico coated ACL race bearings.
I so would have been up for getting the 92mm crank version when it would have been ready!! God dammit.
Cheers Aj

cheers dude il keep it in mind just not sure on the turbo seems a little big and does it fit in the standard position or is it top mount ?
MazworxRacing
11-12-2009, 14:56
GT3076R will fit either top or bottom mount. Better top mount. Its not a big turbo. With the stroker and cams, it will spool up in no time and make great power.
