Next Midlands Meet Big Billing BBQ

After the success of last weekends meet at santa pod just thought that while summers here us midlands lot might wanna take advantage of the good weather :)
How many people would be interested in having a BBQ at billing for next midlands meet on the 6th of July and make a day of it?
If enough of us think its a good idea then ill get it all sorted out.

well like i said to matty, when we discussed my idea of a bbq.... i have quite a big ice box we can use to keep the meat cool....

my suggestion was a bbq and then maybe a game of something like football or rounders or volleyball.....

so andy does that mean your gonna bring the hungry ***** to the next meet, to test it before billing weekend???........

would save everone else bringing theirs :)

billing have told matty that unless there are more women going, they may refuse us entry......

im really worried that we will all turn up and they will basically refuse us entry :( they really didnt seem keen to have us attend as they have a lot of other car clubs going that week so its gonna be rammed.
If we wanna still give it a go and turn up anyway then we shall, but i could also look into an alternative venue as theres still over 2 weeks to go. if we do go and get refused entry then we can always just go to Sixfields as usual i suppose ?

i know somewhere lovely in oxford, but it's probably too far for most. takes bout 45 minutes from northampton.
it's got a car park, it's right by the river and it's got bbq's there for the general public to use, but we can't gaurentee that other's aren't there using it, unless we got there early morning.....


i would of suggested mine, but we live in the narrowest two way street in the country and it's hard enough parking one car there, let alone more.....

They have MASSIVE ground, of trees and grassland and streams and stuff....

You WONT fill that, and its great for BBQ's, footie, rounders, anything.

I went a few weeks back and sat, had pimms + strawberries in the sunshine !

its just outside of cov and is pretty easy to get to from the m6 :)
they have BBQ stuff there for anyone to use so i could go early and secure us a choice spot ? ;)

Skidz, its because when i rang them they told me they might refuse us entry to the site and gave me the distinct impression that "might" was more like "would" :(
its their policy not to allow all male or all female groups entry to the site as they get too noisy and can cause trouble so they see us as an all male group, even tho i did point out to the woman i was speaking to that we were all mature people of a range of ages and that some of us would be bringing young families + partners. i think she has the image that we are all young hardcore nova owners or something, which i can assure you i tried to make very sure that was not the image i was giving in my telephone manner :(

as they told you other car clubs are going there that day, how will they know which car club we're from..... esp..... if we go in a mixture of honda/sx/ whatever else comes........

i think we should go to billing and take our chances....

as long as we don't all go at once, it won't be a problem....

Yes people im back, got back from holiday a few hours ago.

Anyway i wont dwell on the great time i had, nor the amazing weather, nor the 5 star hotel i stayed in, nor will i even mention the fact i asked my gf to marry me while i was there :D

so to the point

we gonna meet up at 6fields 1st and then go to billing or ???? and if so/ if not at what times are we gonna meet at each place.

I was thinking if we where to meet at 6 fields 1st we could make it for about 10am, gives everyone plenty of time to get outta bed at a decent hour. and we can pootle over to billing ready for about 12noon and food time :D

i think everyone should bring their own food + BBQ's cos then the poeple who dont wanna BBQ or only eat special food or whatever can all sort themselves out and no-one can complain about anything. those little disposable BBQ's you can get from supermarkets do a good job so ive heard. Sauces and stuff, again, bring your own then no-one can moan that we havent bought their favourite or something.

"Right ive had a request to put it up so here it is....

For those not in the know after talking to my bro (MattyGee) about the poor turn outs of midlands un-official meets for both our clubs, we came up with the idea that maybe some of you guys who might want to go to a more regular meet could join some of the guys from the SXOC (200sx Owners Club) at their little midlands meet.

This will be the 4th dual meet, and due to the sunny weather (on order) and it being summer we thought its about BBQ season.

The plan is an all day BBQ at billing aquadrome, in the sun, a few beers (or none beers), food, cars and decent convosation, and a bit of a drive on the way there :D

Normaly we meet up at Sixfields Leisure Estate in Northampton and then convoy over to Billing. We could meet at between Time TBA
In the car park of the stadium, and then onto Billing for about TBA.

Try and remember that though this is a un-official event we will still be representing the club and messing around like this will reflect very badly, its not cool, its not "wickid" its just sad.... And while on the billing site please everyone stick to the speed limits at all times, we dont want anyone being kicked out, crashing, or hurting anyone whos walking around, as there will be families camping etc. What you do on the open road is between you and the police, i know i will be staying to the speed limits as i wanna get their in one piece and without tickets.

The plan for the meet is, turn up when you like cos basically if we all turn up at once and scare the billing people they may very well refuse us entry as they have a policy of not allowing mostly all male or all female goups on their site, thats up to them and i have no problem with that, it just makes it difficult to organise this meet with the threat of being turned away hanging in the air.
if we do get turned away then we will be going to sixfeilds in northampton as we usually do.

we dont have a specially marked out area for us or anything (cos billing is gonna be pretty damn busy that weekend with 5 or 6 different car clubs having their own versions of JAE) so i doubt we will be able to park together unless we are lucky and theres a good bit of space. but even so im sure we will still all be able to hookup somewhere :)

well i never drive any morning after a heavy piss up until about 1pm as it takes about 7-10 hours to get the alchohol out of your system. well, the boys are staying with simon's mum on saturday night, so we won't have to worry about them..... for a change, and it also means me and simon get to enjoy sunday, without having to chase after morgan!!.......
