Is there a good anti virus package available for PC's that's cheap or even free download (the later would be better for my circumstances right now)?

Also is there something to get rid of worms and trojans?

Thanks:thumbs:

I use Avira after trying the new Microsoft one for a week and having my computer slow down to half speed.

use the trial of VIPRE or NOD32 for the moment if you can, but i would recommend Norton Internet security which is only about £23 at the moment for three computers (though the last one i installed on 5 and they are all still running ok lol)

Its nothing if you have more than one computer or other people chip in and share the cost with you

Malware = Great it detected quite a number of things (I knew something was there):). To delete the stuff and to give me a clean start you need to subscribe :(which is where the problem arises that you need a job to have money to buy/subscribe to stuff:nod:. So now I know for sure that my PC is stuffed but I can't do anything about it

Malwarebytes is indeed free (the active scanner isnt but you dont need it) and there are plenty of good free ones out there.

I'm confused as well, as Malwarebytes has never needed me to subscribe/pay for to do it's job

It's also worth grabbing combofix (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) and giving that a run

That sounds more like the Anti-Spyware application that claims you are infected to the hills when in fact you aren't and are tricked into buying some nasty little application.
