Yeah, I should be getting Jonny's old turbo when he gets his T28. Don't think he's seen any sign of it yet though which is bad news - hope it works out for him.

Apart from that it just needs a lick of paint and a bit of touching up TBH, its a very reliable 200 with this being the first problem and is understandable because I was running an insane amount of boost which knackered the turbo.

If I'd had made a better effort this could have easily have been sorted out ages ago but I've been buying a house etc instead, should have had my priorities right LOL ;)

I doubt very much if I will make this one. My boss has this bad habit of scheduling me a heavy workload on the night of meets  . By the time I get back home into Kilmarnock it will be at least 1900 then theres the shower, shave and the $hite, bite to eat then up to Livingston......I'd be lucky to make it for after 2100 and I am starting off at 0700 tomorrow  . If my work load lightens ie a colleague helps me out if his work gets canned I will come up though.

Kev
12-06-2003, 03:06
Richard i usually just get a bite to eat up there mate.

Ok boys can we agree to meet at the usual place, eurocentral at around 7:10.
To leave for 7:20pm
cos every meet so far we have managed to arrive late for.
So who will be meeting at eurocentral?
Martin, Jonny (u need a lift) Jim and me.
Anyone else?
Oh and Munchkin aint coming this time, but feel free to bring ur missuses.

NP's :) Glad you enjoyed it. Think I was scaring you 'til you realised I knew the road lol?

N that bloody badger, I very neary scooped the bugger up - just glad he didn't decide to run back the way after I opted to pass him on the left. (we had just begun to slow from 140 leptons those who are reading this, hitting the badger would've been very bad news - it was huge!)

You'll need to gimme a ride whilst you're drifting sometime, that'd be cool :)

On the way home cruising at about 85mph Martin overtook me and i tucked in behind him got up to about a ton then i saw this flash, i sh*t my pants i thought it was a camera, then you did it again a bit further on it's quite good to watch. What's that smell your giving off Martin? :p i thought 'it's a bit gamey' l.o.l. What kind of oil you using? as there's a funny oily waft comming from your car. Nobby - Place is called CLCM, they are in Bankhead drive, Sighthill - just behind the Toyota garage.

Dunc - Yer was a nice gentle cruise :wack:

MrM - I love drivin those roads, you get to know em so well when you drive them so much - things like how each bend throws your car due to the banking, holes mid corner, where the likely hazzards are etc. etc. I gotta say it's best to drive em at night when it's dark cos you can use the full width of the road then. TBH I would've cornered a lot quicker in my MR2, it's just I'd rather not risk it when I'm getting to know the Supra properly. So far I'm impressed with how well it corners for a big car - that double wishbone suspension really does it's stuff it seems.

Sounds good for the dori fun, when's the next quiet Crail?

While I like the concept I'm afraid the Crail 'drifting oval' is actually totally shite. And dangerous, as they let out two cars at a time, one of them invariably filled with a daft, aggressive schemey who quite possibly stole the car last night.

I think we'd better off, for example, asking if we could use that big space between the industrial units next to the Brucefield pub, than going to Crail. I've even seen cars waiting to go on to the 'drifting oval' being hit by tyres that have been smacked into by twats who can't drive losing it completely.

If we could have our own venue we would be able to have control over the antics and not worry about getting our cars smashed up by other arseholes who don't like the fact that you can slide better than them or have a better car than them.

Crail is shite and they treat you like a **** there too.

All IMO of course, and I'm in a ****ing bad mood.

That wafty oily smell is the lovely aroma of gearbox oil, I think I may have spilled a wee bit over the gearbox, when I drive with windows open it reaks, smells like gas.

Passed the mot also which was nice:D

Though don't ask about my CO levels.

I know what you're getting at , but I have to disagree.

OK so there's 2 cars at a time on, and yeah people bring shitboxes that they don't care about... but all you need to do is keep your eye on them and make sure it's you that's following them around the oval.
Yes the surface is shite, but it's slippey as fook and gets you used to coping with surface changes.

For the money on the quiet days you can't get anywhere better that's legal.

Our own venue that we had control over would indeed be the best... but I can't see it happening for anything like a reasonable cost, unless you know someone who owns a big carpark:)

as for the people at Crail being arseholes about having the better car and better driving skills, I received nothing but respect and compliments on my last few outings. :) or did you mean the staff? because it was the bloke who sits on the oval in the little black corsa with "L" plates on that came over and actually invited me into the burnout comp... he was nice as pie :)

sorry to disagree with you on almost everything you said, but that's my opinion :)

Kev
14-06-2003, 03:49
lol at u appologising for having an opinion.
The surface is crap, the guy that owns the airfeild's attitude is "if u dont like it dont come" which is a bit off really, but its the only legal place we have so..... well basically thats it, like it or lump it.

Well u got any better ideas to liven up the drive home?
U can either blast away, not possible due to my really dodgy handling, or maintain a sensible speed.
And u can either blast past each other every now and then or sit one after the other.
at 12:30pm at night, id rather try and do something to keep me awake.

I dont think ur in a position to comment since u didnt even turn up.

I do make sure it's me following them but basically I think the way the whole thing is managed is shite. Sometimes they make you queue up so close to the 'drifting oval' that your car is in serious danger of getting twatted by a buckie-boy. As well as the surface being shite, your car also ends up being minging as they use diesel to lubricate it.

Additionally there is no run-off, especially at the near end. It's just concrete then tyres.

For the money on the quiet days you can't get anywhere better that's legal.

Yeah, unfortunately that is correct.

Our own venue that we had control over would indeed be the best... but I can't see it happening for anything like a reasonable cost, unless you know someone who owns a big carpark:)

It all depends. I know some farmers so will do some asking around. A big carpark would be ideal. Plus a hose/sprinkler system. I'm sure this is possible, somewhere in the Central Belt.

as for the people at Crail being arseholes about having the better car and better driving skills, I received nothing but respect and compliments on my last few outings. :) or did you mean the staff? because it was the bloke who sits on the oval in the little black corsa with "L" plates on that came over and actually invited me into the burnout comp... he was nice as pie :)

Not to put too fine a point on it but in my experience the staff at Crail treat you like a ****. I understand why, though, as they are used to dealing with ****s.

I think the place is shit. However I do agree that it's basically all there is. I think we could do much better. i will start doing some asking around.
