Hi guys, I have recently bought an import with loads of electronics, unfortunately I don't know how they work, anyone know where I can get instructions from ?

I have tried the dealer sites but I think my stuff is a couple of years old so they don't list them.

HKS PFC F-Con - 6 screw adjustable 500 - 8,000 rpm
Greddy Rebic III - 5th inj controller
Blitz Twin Solonoid Boost Control
Pivot 3 way Data Logger

Cheers

The HKS PFC Fcon is a piggyback fuel controller. It sounds like you also have the GCC Graphic Control Computer. This is best left alone unless you know what you are doing... The GCC gives some user adjustibility for the fuel curve. Major changes are made by getting a new ROM burnt for the PFC Fcon (either an off the shelf HKS rom or a tuner in Japan could custom program one). These were very popular in Japan a few years ago but have been supersceded by more modern and powerful items.

Check out the HKS sites to see if they have any documentation on line www.hkseurope.com www.hks-usa.com alternatively if you are really stuck you can phone HKS Europe in the UK, they are actually quite helpful. Also Tdi www.tdi-plc.com have probably the most experience with the HKS electronics in this country.

Greddy Rebic - try www.greddy.com although I doubt there is much info. Very similar in concept to HKS AIC. The Rebic as far as I know controls additional injectors based on RPM and boost levels. I believe it is fully adjustible from the controls on the unit, i.e it doesn't need additional programming or a re-chip, but I could be wrong..

Blitz Twin Solenoid - Old version of Blitz DSBC boost controller. Just allow you to set low and high boost settings and switch between them when driving. Should be quite simple to work out.

Pivot Data Logger  Sorry don't know :p

Sorry to gate crash this tread but what have you done to your MX-5 for 200bhp or did you buy it in like that! Would be really interested cos i've got an MX-5 which I use in the nice weather but I would love to get more power out of it, was thinking about turboing it!

Hey I've gate crashed your site so no worries !

Mine is currently supercharged at 200bhp, I've now bought a turbo and it won't run right , looking at the spec I'm hoping for 240+ if I can sort it.

More info at mx5oc.co.uk, miatanet, sscor (sorry you'll have to seach on the last two don't have address to hand)

I have tried the sites suggested on the first reply - thanks but no good - anyone else ?

What are you trying to do? Program them yourself?? Have you spoken to the companies I suggested?

I want to check the install and confirm how they work - it also has a HKS Vein Pressure Converter - I've found the instructions for (on a Celica Site) and it turns out that a temp senser that should be in the Inlet manifold has been sited in the engine bay !!!

I've had loads of modified cars - none have ever been correctly set up. This one pinks at half throttle.

The FCON comes with a harness which plugs in between the factory ECU and wiring loom. It modifies mainly the Air Flow Meter (or VPC) input into the ECU to get the desired response, ie it tricks the ECU into adding more or less fuel. It can also add injector pulses I believe. Some applications have an FCD (Fuel Cut Defencer) wired into the loom and a pressure sensor. The VPC (air flow meter replacement) will have its own pressure sensor anyway. Unfortunately it is all a very complicated set up!!

The Rebic is completely independent of the ECU and is for forced induction applications. It has only 3 parameters, boost, RPM and injector duty cycle. I.e at x amount of boost at x RPM you tell it what injector duty to run on the sub injector(s). Presumably it takes the RPM signal from the ECU loom.

I don't know of where online manuals are available for them unfortunately. Maybe someone somewhere scanned them but I cannot find them right now.

Thanks again, it is becoming clearer - I'm hoping someone either knows where they are scanned in, or has them fitted.

Don't know where you are based but check out Torque Developments International (TDI), they are big HKS dealers and have plenty of experience of turboing cars that aren't meant to be turboed! Should be able to help you out.
