Well, saturday was the first day of experiencing a track day, and what better way to do it then be a passenger in an Ultima GTR :D

I was very impressed with the marshalling, circuit and most peoples track etiquet.

I was apprehensive about taking my car onto the track, because I have little faith in my brakes, but seeing as everyone is being sensible and breaking early, I need not have worried.

The pace of some road cars was astounding, and as Fish got the hang of going fast round corners, the Ultima was pretty impressive, though he has to relearn limits and we just werent pushing any of them, but still probably the fastest on the track in our category ;)

We did have a Hyabusa powered caterham trying to harrass us, we were very polite and pulled over to the right to let him past, but even though he was on it out of the corner, and Fish was waiting till the car straighted up before nailing it, his rubbish little bike engine couldnt keep up, this really annoyed him down the main straight as we were able to pull out 20 car lengths with ease, seeing speeds of over 160 mph.

There was a nice Evo 5 there (hi dude) and he had lots and lots of Apexi Toys running around 350bhp, and he was quick round the track, and was VERY SUPRISED when the Ultima came out of know where and past him on the main straight.

THe day is organised by the Liverpool car club, and you can basically just turn up. The runs are 10 minutes each of which you get around 5 or 6 of, and believe me, thats long enough!!!

Im defo going to the next one, and encourage all you Northwesterners to do the same.

The Ultima Owners club were there, as well as some old exotic Lotus F1 car....

Oh yeah, and TVR's Le-mans car was practicing too, and you were on track with it as well, bloody brilliant, but in true TVR tradition, the car broke ;)

It was amazingly fast, just goes to show how fast the Le-mans cars that actually qualified are, i have a message for TVR....

Guys, if you wanna get anywhere, you need to polish harder ;) :D
