Hey folks,

My 180sx clocks are shagged. Only 2 numbers change on them

I am going to get another set of Clocks, work them to the rough mileage of the car as I dunno how long they've been busted for

My question to the many experienced people is can I use UK S13 clocks on my JDM RS13 180sx OR do I have to use PS13 or RS13 JDM Clocks?

JDM ones or your rev counter won't work.

I'll rephrase that in case it has worked for someone else, as I'm a big fan of trying not to state false information on the net...On my 180SX, I put a set of UK clocks in and the rev counter didn't work, and on a UK S13 that I fitted with a 180SX engine conversion, I had to swap the clocks to make it work. I think you may be able to solve it with a resistor in the tacho circuit and use the UK clocks though.

Yeah the resistor is needed if you're going to run a tacho designed for a CA18 with any SR20 engine.
I can't see any bother in swapping over the speedo though.

(this is all for pre-95 cars - not mucked around with kouki cars but I know they're rather different)

Mine aint a Kouki though John. Mine is a late Chuki as we found by the ECU ;) That and Im missing the sexy lights :( So to save any bother I am best looking for a 180sx/PS13 Silvia set of Clocks. Any obvious differences?

If you have a problem with the odometer, that is easy to fix, take it apart clean all the wheels with soapy water and put it back chances are it will work no trouble.

I think its broken, not stuck.

when the odeometer on the clocks in my ps13 broke i got a set of uk s13 ones then just swapped the rev counter, works fine and u get a true mph reading too! the rev counter just screws out, change it over n done.

Thanks for the info. I'll need to remove the convertor then... wonder where that is...

jdm sr tacho has a 9k clock on it, whereas uk clocks only 8k.

other than a few of the warning lights for various spec cars, i dont think theres any visual difference (perhaps slightly different graphics on the fuel display and water temp)
