differences?

looking at getting an import 14a and have seen posts about redtops and blacktops and was wondering what differences there is between to ukdm and jdm cars? what should i be looking out for?

all s14/14a will have a black top engine with vvt.

only early s13's came with redtop sr20's in, there was also a black top engine in the later model s13's. both of these engines were without vvt.

s13 sr20's are distinctive because their rocker cover is flat, whereas an s14 sr20 slopes off towards the back
