Yeah the big bugger?
Ever noticed the gas tank behind Baverstocks ?
I reckon that's good for about 200-400 kilotonnes
So I just popped that into the nuclear explosion simulator I happen to have lying around :wack: and it's pretty safe to say it would be  Merthyr
The bits that didn't get melted by the heat would be flattened by the pressure wave. Millions of pounds of improvements could be done ;) Of course, it would also look awesome on highspeed film.

You don't have a hydrogen one too do you?
I want to see what i can do with 4000 cubic metres of the good ole H2! :D

Yea lets see what would happen if Paul pushed the wrong button lol

If that's gas, I'm afraid that's only equivalent to about 28 Tonnes of TNT, sorry.
On the other hand, if you're talking about liquified H2, then you're rocking just over 0.6 kilotonnes of TNT :D

Oh it's the good stuff mate lol

Small fry then :wack:
Its just the gas! :(
But we also have large quantities of So2, CO, CO2 and liquid carbonyl

Have you ever seen that much TNT go up? It would definitely wake the neighbours!

Sorry, H2 is just pretty piddly really.
But we also have large quantities of So2, CO, CO2 and liquid carbonyl
Dare I ask what on earth for?
Have you got any Chlorine Triflouride? That stuff is cool :D

Lol@piddly :wack:
I work in a Nickel refinery! i am only a lowly operator,so don't get too technical,it'll show me up :D
Not sure if we have Chlorine Triflouride! one of our lab techs made some good pipe bombs years ago with what looked like coated cotten wool! (would that be it?) we blew the mess room door off its hinges! the look of horror on the guys running out was priceless! :wack:

You would know if you did ;)
It's the sort of thing that chemists avoid :D
You use it to clean things that you can't get into, pretty useful stuff. It has an unfortunate tendency to make things catch fire. Things like metal, wood, rubber, concrete, gravel, sand, water, asbestos and lab technicians ;)
The Nazis tried to use it in world war II to make self-igniting flamethrowers, but failed to make it work properly. Well, actually that's not strictly true I suppose; it did work, but very literally, on account of it making the flamethrowers themselves catch fire rather than what was being sprayed out of them.

Nope, that would be gun cotton
Also used in world war II, they used to make it in pretty unique buildings. Take a whole bunch of wire mesh and make it into a shed. Now spray it with a very light fluffy concrete. This is where you make gun cotton, since when it explodes spontaneously all you have to do is use a hose to get rid of the technicians who were working in there at the time, and then spray a fresh load of concrete on the mesh and start again, instead of having to build a whole new building. Yes, that's when not if.

I'm not surprised! If you have a lab technician who makes gun cotton as a hobby, you should point them towards John D Clark's work/books, they will be in heaven.
If they're any good, ask them to show you what a hypergolic is, but wear face protection and cover your eyebrows with something that doesn't burn easily. For that matter, try not to be wearing anything that burns easily either. And for goodness sake, don't show Chris (hi Chris ;) )

That first stuff sounds nasty!
Sounds like we were lucky with the guncotten then
I'll pass on that info to the guy when he comes back off the sick!
(you won't believe this, but he gassed himself Monday with liquid carbonyl :smash: )
