hello gents..

last night i fitted your full turbo back system.. this included 02 housing front pipe and cat back.

the car was s14a.. the customer was told to achieve best ground clearance it'd be best to fit the s14 o2 elbow and front flexi pipe..

the o2 elbow fitted good.. although the position of the bung for stock NB o2 sensor fouls the rearmost breather pipe.

the front pipe sat hard against the chassis rail requiring a clocking of the top flange by approx 5degrees..

the flexi pipe sits in the lowest position(most vunerable)

the front pipe end support is no where near to the original bracketry.. (although an original s14 gearbox to front pipe bracket may be different)

the front pipe was approx 15mm too long at the cat end. (with stock length decat pipe)

the rear part of the system fitted ok.. (good ground clearance) but the positioning of the rear box to centre section pipe flange is poor..(least ground clearance.)

as a skilled fabricator these things dont impede my work.. but to joe public buing a bolt on fit exhaust its not so good.. perhaps the QC missed this one?

**** me.. whichever way round it is that was NOT the problem...!!

did i anywhere state there was any sort of clearance problem due to turbo elbow length?? bejesus//

Hi mate yeah the S14A one is the shorter one just to clarify. If your customer wanted full ground clearance they would of been better going for one of our twin downpipes rather than the standard replacement pipe :) If its not been used etc you are very welcome to return it to be exchanged.

Ed

Thats not the way that post looked mate. :indiff:

Having had millions (slight exaggeration perhaps) of manifold/elbow/downpipe/turbo combinations on my S13's, I can vouch that there is no "one fits all" solution. Its something people need to be aware of - if any of the system is non standard it may affect how the rest fits.

there was no problem with the clearance of the downpipe to the floor.. how many times do i need to say this?

read the original post.. its quite verbose and explains all the problems clearly.

i agree.. but it a trader is selling a turbo back system which means elbow downpipe and rear system.. no decat supplied. then you may expect to be able to bolt this product onto the car with simple ease there is no mismatch of various parts.. in fact using one manufacturers parts should surely mean a perfect fit..

Hi,

It may have been that you have received the wrong turbo elbow, if this is the case, it will throw out the whole system.

This is something im sure we can sort out for you.

Thanks,

Dan

just to revive an old thread the car has come back in.. i took these shots.. and my assumptions of the future problems were correct..
flexi joint in bad position.. has been touching floor.. (car not excessively low)

rear most joint in the lowest position hitting ground very badly

the downpipe modification to allow correct fitment
