It's just saying about being able to issue dispersal orders for groups of kids pissing about... which they can do anyway.. so not news really

Everyone's always well behaved at the Jap Meet

Even IF we got put with the trouble making lot, oh no we all just go down the pub, that is not in the dispersal area.

Simples.

Why would they? The police aren't the complete b*stards people like to make out

I got caught driving up a one way street last Fri night (fecking sat nav :whip: ).. didn't see any signs.. then a police van came towards me and stopped.. just told me which way I needed to go

In general, you'll only get treated like a twat if you act like one IMO

Like the police van that showed up at the end of the tunnel run -I spoke to them and they said no one was messing about.. there were a fair few cars in the car park, all parked up, and because they saw no one was pissing about they left

Personally i hate the police and think it just another way to meet there target's without dealing with proper crime.

How is that the fault of officers on the street though?

I don't sit at work and think 'oh god the staff in the canteen are doing a shit job.. I'm going to go and help them out'

Same way that traffic cops don't sit there thinking 'hmmm not much going on tonight, I'll go give the murder squad some assistance'

If you have that view, blame it on who manages it, and who allocates which officers where -the guys that are out there are just doing their job where they are told to do it

So kids razzing about a public place isn't 'real crime'? Without meaning to sound all cliched.. it will be when one of them doughnuts into someones kids.

Remember.. it's in a retail park, there are members of the public around, who deserve to be able to be in a public area, without some twat in his Corsa fcuking about.

As much as people are annoyed by them at times, if we didn't have traffic cops we'd have twats pissing about all over the place. I mean how many times have you and others moaned about 'some twat on the road' ...

I started the Reading Jap meet and seen it grow from 17 cars to a steady 200 Jap Cars a month. No one dicked around, no one got told of by the coppers.

They would rarely bother us at all infact and said that if we ever had a problem with anyone to let them know. The two times I did have a dick turn up they removed them:nod:

They would come in and ask what was what and what to buy/Avoid always had a smile.

They let the show go on and were always praising the behaviour as a whole of all those that attend.

I wrote to them each month and let them know it was going on.

The Reading cruise however was a doughnut ring of bad behaviour and chavdom so got shut down each month with riot vans and helicopters:nod:

Seem they are pretty ok to me:nod::sxoc:

^^

We had a police van show up at the tunnel run (we'd contacted them previously to say the event was going on) -when I chatted to them they were cool with us being there, as no one was messing about.

In reality the police aren't bad people.. as with any group you get some idiots.. but thats the same in anything IMO

I've just had a police officer buy my impreza wagon and he explained that in the traffic forces there are a few people with a power problem who do like to use their authority even when not necessary but he aid most cops, including him happily let modifed car users go about their business, if they have a loud exhaust or tints he doesn't give a sh1t...its only if they are driving like a pratt that he decides to take action......

this made me lol but very true

Meanwhile, back in the real world, people still mugging, raping, murdering...................................... But as long as targets are met, we can all sleep easy. & don't even think about making a citizens arrest!

"What are you doing!?" "Citizens arrest. He tried to stab me." "You can't do that. Look! You've got his jacket wet when you grappled him to the ground. Under the European Human Rights Act (that Cherie Blair makes 90% of her income from, which is why her hubby couldn't pass it through quick enough), he is now in a position to sue you for suppressing his legal right to wear a dry jacket." "But he was going to kill me!" "Doesn't matter. You should've phoned the police?" "I did, but they were all down Reading Gate Retail Park, armed with their decibel readers." "Irrelevant I'm afraid. You should've rung the police, waited to be connected to a call centre who will then tell you all police stations are closed til Monday, but you can dial 8 to make a complaint, which will be thoroughly investigated & then swept under the carpet." "But he had a knife!" "& you've got a Labour Government & Thames Valley Police looking out for you. What are you so worried about........?"

Again

I totally agree with it.. there should be a police presence in town and they should have powers to break up groups of kids pratting about -it's indimidating to members of the general public who shouldn't have to put up with that crap.

Why would they? The police aren't the complete b*stards people like to make out

I never said they were but I have had some inappropriate conversations with some of Thames Valleys finest just for filling up my car in a petrol station. They only came to talk because my car was lightly modified.

Likewise I have had a number of tellings off that were completely justified for "elevated speed" down dual carriageways in the early hours of the morning and the officers in question followed me for 3 miles in an unmarked and were very level headed when they did pull me over. Thanks you 2 nice people :).

Like they say it's the few that ruin it for the many, it applies to both sides of the fence!!

I'm all for stopping corsa / fiesta and saxo drivers leaving their own driveways
