Without getting into a pro/con scrabble issue, has anybody else noticed how arrogant and aggressive new Mini drivers are on the road? Make your typical BMW man look kind and friendly IMO.

I thought it might just have been me (with the sticker on the back of my car that says DEATH TO SCRABBLE I do get some odd reactions) but others at work reported the same thing.

I'm not saying all of them are like this, just that there seems to be a trend developing I believe.

mini's aggressively driving are just amusing, much like beetle's

yes a car designed for women who think alternative and hippies is really going to instill fill into everyone

it's like trying to appear straight while wearing leather pants and a pink t shirt

Totally agree JB, once again this particular brand of beemer owner thinks a badge allows them to rule the road. Respect my athouriti' style :notworthy :notworthy

I dunno.

I find Passat and Golf TDi/GTi drivers are doing my nut in more than anyone else lately.

one of my mates hasnt even picked up his new mini cooper-s and already believes he will be able to beat me on our way to santa pod once he has it, cos it has superior handling.
hello greg if you are lurking
oh and no you wont beat me, the mini may be nippy, but an sx is a proper performance car ;)

My mates got a mini One LOL:D

And all he kept saying is that he should have got the traction control done on it.....

I nearly wet myself when I heard that

Trade descriptions act should be used on it as it says its Mini when it quite clearly isn't:finger: :finger: :finger:

And have you seen the size of the speedo:eek:

Still its the only way a Mini is ever going to see "Big Numbers" PML:finger:

Matty, if your car has standard suspension, then YES he will be able to beat you due to superior handling, EVO took one to the twisty curves down an italian mountain, but they had a Mini One, and although the M3 (current shape) pulled out in the straights, the Mini One was ALL OVER IT during cornering!!!!!!!

Then I would suggest the M3 was being driven by a woos

Not many Italian mountains around Santa Pod though :p :D

Did EVO take it up the mountain as well, I assume that would be a totally different story as the Mini scrabbled round the bends :D

Maybe they simply pushed the mini over the edge and watched it drop :D

Me being the aformentioned Mini Cooper driver, generalising people in cars is rubbish.

I personally find Golf, BMW, Passat & Rover 400 drivers to be the pits. I also must give a mention to the Green BMW 5 series driver who after driving his car like it was stolen tried to smack into the back of me S14 round an island - it seemed to make his GF laugh though.

Now I feel qualified to comment on some other things as a Mini owner..

Suspension on minis, mine has the plus version like the cooper S. It is set way harder than my stock S14. It also had low profile 17" tyres which had pretty much no sidewall movement. round twisty corners it could probably keep up with 'anything'.

The traction control was a joke, I never had it though. I only ever really squeeled my tyres once. round a 70 odd degree bend and 55-60. A friend who has traction control finds he squeels wheels at 35-40 round tight corners.

Speed, Up to say 70-80 the cooper is fine, around 90 you run out of gears. The S has like 45 ish BHP more and would like run out of juice at maybe 110 - 120?

The problem with the mini is that it's popular and when stuff gets popular tossers buy them, so the amount of tossers driving them increases and you notice them more.

As much as I like mine I like my S14 more. I'm kinda sad the rattling little bugger will be going soon :*(

Finally, I don't lurk and you copied me, I've always wanted a 200sx and when I get my black R33 Skyline wheels you will have copied me again, I am your king and don't forget it!

excellent stuff
, by the time he picks his mini up ill have a nice bit of aftermarket suspension all fitted (if everything goes to plan for me in the next few months  )

I'm not psycho like you and your nearly 45 degree body roll :finger:

Cooper isn't fast though, it just has good suspension. It needs more torque as under 4k its like a wet fart.
