I think Ive found out why the tin says to wear thick rubber gloves when using it.

It ate through the thin gloves I was wearing and my finger has gone dry and is starting to crack. :(

Wonder what its got in it?

Fcuking hell Steve

Methyl chloride is clearly genotoxic in in vitro systems in both bacteria and mammalian cells. Although the positive effects seen in a dominant lethal test most likely were cytotoxic rather than genotoxic, methyl chloride might be considered a very weak mutagen in vivo based on some evidence of DNA–protein cross-linking at higher doses.
Testicular lesions and epididymal granulomas followed by reduced sperm quality lead to reduced fertility in rats at 980 mg/m3 (475 ppm) and to complete infertility at higher doses.

In humans, brief exposures to high levels of methyl chloride can have serious effects on the nervous system, including convulsions, and coma. Other effects include dizziness, blurred or double vision, fatigue, personality changes, confusion, tremors, uncoordinated movements, slurred speech, nausea, and vomiting. These symptoms develop within a few hours after exposure and may persist for several months. (1)
Effects on heart rate, the liver, and kidneys have also been reported in humans following acute inhalation exposures to methyl chloride. (1)
Numerous acute inhalation exposure studies have identified the liver and kidney as target organs in rats and mice; the central nervous system (CNS) as a target system in rats, mice, and dogs; spleen effects in mice; and endocrine effects in rats. (1,2)
Tests involving acute exposure of rats and mice have shown methyl chloride to have moderate acute toxicity. (3)

Sounds like you're fooked mate.

Naaah you should be alright if you only got a bit on your finger and washed it off immediately afterwards. The worst effects it has is on animals, or has not yet been measured. In areas where there has been enough data, it doesn't seem that bad in small quantities.
