Not sure how the subject started but after a few beers we were trying to remember what they were....

Without trawling the net or any encyclopedias what are the seven wonders? :)

Hanging gardens of babylon, Pyramids ummm... :confused:

I never was that good at history :rolleyes:

ancient or modern?

only know the pyramids are the remaining ancient wonder that still exists to this day.

The entrance to the harbour at Rhodes Town..can't remember the name of it...defo one of the 7 wonders of the world tho'...ooooh this is gonna bug me now...I did actually know 'em once upon a time.

Theres 3 versions I thing, Natural ancient and modern (last few thousand years)

I know a gold statue of helios that stood at Rhodes town harbour entrance is one of the ancient ones

erm ........... there was at least another big statue and something like the parthenon :)

There may well be a list of modern "wonders" but the original list and the way I understand the term is only ancient structures :)

Being a sad geeky sorta person, I went to see what's left of the Mauseleum when I was on holiday in Turkey last year. Needless to say, it's just a big pile of stones now !

But (again in a sad geeky way) was interesting to see their attempts at reconstructing what it might have used to look like :)

Ancient Ones

Hanging Gardens of Babylon
dang, cant believe I missed the Mauseleum when in Turkey

Modern ones

All except the Taj Mahal and the Washington Monument.

Natural ones

Only the Great Barrier Reef.

Glad to know there is still plenty to see.

Doh - I've only seen the great barrier reef and the Eiffel tower. Gives me something to do when I've got the time, I s'pose.
