Please don't start all this FATF dissin, people read into the film too much at the end of the day it's just a film with some nice cars in it, plus I know it's got a sh1te story line but who gives a fuk about the story :finger:

sorry :o its just that i always felt they could have done SOOOO Much better with it but instead just bowed to the masses and made it overhyped and "americanised". Hated the first one (liked some of the cars) but they made real car fans out to be idiots, thinkin they can pass some of that dialogue off!

Personally I just like fast cars being booted - thats why I went to Santa Pod today and had a bloody good time. I just ignore the rest of the bullshit that the first film was full of.

not sure when its coming out but do a search on google for "tachophobia" or "feer of speed" looks quite cool.

i topped out @ 140mph! ok what car is that supposed to be an eclipse isn't it? i thought they were fatser than that standard:confused: plus with "all those mods" it shud have pushed its top end up a little bit. i.e. s13 standard ~ 137mph an etra 100bhp will see u to ~150mph so i suppose u cud say roughly for the first extra 100bhp will give you an extra 10mph on ur top end?

so either his car is really gay or they know jack shit or i do ( latter is true to a point:rolleyes: )

I thought that the biggest bullshit thing about it was the fact that a 240 BHP eclipse reached its top speen in a 1/4 mile!

Wanna see a good car film ? go watch getaway in stockholm 2. Just had this given to me on CD its 266MB and 12 minutes of the most ace driving of tuned cars I have ever seen.

I've already seen the movie... it's actually better than the old one.

They shy away from trying to use alot of "tech-talk" or lingo, more or less make jokes about it rather than try to be all cool.

It also has some "domestics" in it. A Viper, Yenko S/C Camaro, Charger R/T (again), and a Saleen Mustang.

The GTR sounds good as well.

The typical 21 mile race between 4 cars w/ colored flames, nineteen stage nitrous, 0.5 bar of boost until they spray and it instantly shoots to 1.5 bar. All the cars have standard 8 speed transmissions.

But it's actually somewhat entertaining once you get the idiot kids watching it with you to shut up!

The Fast and the Furious was an unbelievable yarn with mediocre acting placed against a far fetched backdrop of American street racing....... but I loved it :thumbs: ;) !
Why? Well, because it's a car chase film in it's essence and there just ain't enough of them around. Sure the plot was far-fetched, they used bucketfulls of artistic licence when depicting the car race/chase sequences and some of the one-liners were soooooo cheesy it made coke squirt out of my nose :p . So, pretty much the same as every Hollywood action flick then....
I think the reason that some folk on here dislike the film is because it's a subject very close to our hearts. If you take it too seriously it will spoil your enjoyment of the film.

Personally, I'm quite excited about 2 Fast, 2 Furious. When I go to see it I'll 'whoop' at the exciting bits, cheer when I glimpse the S13 and squirt Coke out of my nose when the Cop guy does the standing quarter in a Civic in 7 seconds :p :D :p .... or whatever!

i wasnt going to reply to this forum as i'm still not sure what to say, but the fact is, while the storyline of the first film was basic and predictable, i do like fast cars, and enjoyed it... just love soaking up the atmosphere and somehow the essence of speed was portrayed really well... the slow bits just made the fast bits quicker... and you got the impression that nos really does add power to your car... quite an entertaining film tbh (and currently the only DVD i've owned since buying a ps2)...

now if we can copy the trackday style of race wars (ie mass party with gorgeous babes) then i'm in heaven... shame you couldnt trust scrotes in the darkness not to touch your car...

it was great film if you dont take too seriously, the infinite gear changes, sub 2 secs 0-60, triple overhead crank v24 engines with nuclear reactors in the boot! etc..:rolleyes:
hopefully the second one will be as entertaining as the first shame theres no Vin Disel, but there should be lots of hot totty, nice motors and some class driving:thumbs: ... i hope

I kind of annoys me how over in America when they have car cruises they have nice cars and gorgeous women but over here we have cruises with Saxos, Corsa, Nova, Clios, etc and dodgy slappers. Couldn't believe it when my g'friend even said that if cruises here were like in America she'd go to them :eek:

i think you're getting confused between fantasy and reality - american cruises probably mostly contained drunk driving idiots in pick-up trucks with redneck hoes who have got 5 teeth between them!! If you look at it like that, our saxo and nova boys with their pregnant girlfriends have got a lot over our yank counterparts!! Dont instantly think that the F&F is how it is in the US all the time.....
saying that though, if you ever go to LA, you will see loadsa riced up honda civics dropped to the floor being driving by guys who look like hector outta the original film, as well as loadsa dropped 60's chevolet impala low-riders driven by gangsta types
but if you dont go to the areas designated "TOURIST NO GO ZONES" . then you wont see all these lovely sights in LA!! ;) :thumbs:

mmm i see a business opportunity. buy some cars, max them up, park them in a car park, stick RACE WARS on a banner, get some page 3 models to stand by each car, then charge £250 so a teenage, hormonal ridden geek can stand next to the car of his choice for the day pretending that its his and that the girl is his gf. for an extra £10 they can quote any one line out of TF&TF.
