Does anyone know a way of adjusting idle on a redtop SR.

Mine idles at 1000-1100, i know the uk SR has IVC but i cant see one on the redtop.

Any advice?

it's down between the top half of the inlet plenum should be able to see the adjustment screw. think it's right in between the middle runners.

right my idle screw is all the way in so there is no more 'lower idle' adjustment.

am i going to have to pull the plenum off and clean it?

The method I found for adjusting the idle was to disconect the ICV, then adjust the hex head till the car idles as you want, then re-connect the ICV

cant you just turn the cas sensor?

if you mean turning the cas it take 2 mins run the engine while runing crack the two bolts just enough to turn cas, turn until idle is right! Didnt even know there was an idle adjuster!

no, no, no!

dont turn the cas sensor!!! that controls the ignition timing, not the idle revs.

if its just the idle revs you want to change then leave the CAS well alone, and search for the method of adjusting the idle properly.

download the s14 service manual from horsham developments website and follow the guide. the engine is basically the same, just the various bits of it are in different places!!
