Well, it's itchy feet time again, so out of curiosity and interest, It's time to explore options again :)

More likely than not I'll end up just sitting put as always, but it's nice to think about possible escapes, et al. Nothing wrong with a little idealism

So yes; The United States of America.

Now, I'm fairly reknowned for making life difficult for myself, so here goes..

I still have money outstanding on loans, etc, and have roughly four years max of payments to finish up with. How would one go about keeping up payments in the UK, from the States? Is this a possible system, or would it be a case of sending/transferring money to my mother and getting her to make the payments?

Finding employment. Now, I could probably con a nice young American lady to marry me, but.. this may not happen immediately, so.. Needing full time employment (more likely than not a few jobs, as essentially, I'd be supporting a new existence in the States, and also the aforementioned payments back in the UK, ergo, supporting two lives.), Am I right in thinking that any 'proper' employment would require a full visa, etc.

How much can I legally work or earn, and what paths to a full visa (and full time employment) are viable?

I know nothing of these sorts of things, when the thoughts have crossed my mind, and I've looked into things I've always drawn blanks, and just end up giving up.

But yes. So, anyone with any experience of these things, or anyone know of any useful websites, or just anything really. It'd all be hugely appreciated. :)

I know it's a pipe-dream, but what are dreams and hopes, but things to explore, and perhaps one day make reality. :)

Ta!

My tutor at uni advised me to join some branch of the american air force (maybe techie job). Then at a later date you could go on to do something else jobwise?

Best way to obtain relevant info would be
to contact the US Embassy in London :)

However, I rather suspect that you will be
sorely disappointed as the USA only tend
to let in refugees or millionaires etc :(

You would require a 'Green Card' which is
gives you the right to work, but iirc any US
employer is required to show that they have
been unable to fill a position with a US
Citizen before they are allowed to employ
'foreigners'.

So unless you can offer the US job market
something specialised, that is in short supply
over there, the chances of getting a Green card
are slim, but check with the Embassy - it may
have changed, and I wish you luck :)

Andy, Open to suggestions, but quite fancy the States because of its largeness :)

Adam, I weigh 30 stone, look like I weigh 18, and would probably be out of breath emptying the bins at any USAF base :D

Suffolk, I shall give them a call on Tuesday perhaps. I'm 21, and have no education past GCSE's, four years administration/accounts experience, again, no formal qualifcations.

So.. basically, I'm as screwed as always :)

Tempting to just disappear, but knowing my luck - not just one, but every bank I owed money to would find me, and string me up. And besides, I'd like to at least try and do things the proper way.

Iraq.. Now there's a thought.. Nope.. it's gone, again :D
