View Full Version : Homehub and Xbox 360
Grrrrr, Just got the Home Hub 2.0 on a deal with BT but my Feckin Xbox won't connect!
It isn't even connecting to the router, I am using it Hard wired aswel.
Reading up this is common, any one got any tips on how to get it to connect
The black one? Mines ok. You got the right lead? (sorry if thats a suck eggs type thing..:D)
Mine wont connect if the router hasnt been reset after a power cycle.
Worth doing the whole connecting wizard thing on the xbox?
Same lead that i was using on my old router, tryed the connecting wizard on Xbox and is won't connect to the Hub?
F'kin Gay
Thats really odd. It should at least see it. Is it the grey lead that came with the xbx?
Its just your usual Ethernet cable, It worked fine in the past, Hmmm

the Mrs had a BT homehub at her parents' place. they are a pain. If you can, just pick up a cheap router and use that instead. it will save you alot of headaches from what i have experienced.
Weirdness...The only thing i can think is that your xbx has all the settings of your old router in it, and this one wont play ball. Connect up a pc to the router and check the settings. I had to play silly buggers with mine to begin with, changing passwords etc,etc...
Just been down to check the other xbox we have is working and it is? Same Router the lot
EDIT:
Sorted, Changed the Plug it was in to the 3rd one instead of the 1st one and now it is working?
Hmm fooked HH Connection?
But if i plug the other Xbox into the 1st Ethernet Plug mine doesn't work?
EDIT: Mine stopped again but if i unplug then plug back in it works?
Hmm i hate the Homehub Already

Unfortuantely buddy I binned my homehub pretty quickly as it pulled shanaigans like this.
As soon as I switched to a "normal" one, netgear, it was good as gold.
As said, main things are the fact it drops ports, needs power cycling to pick up on boot and also NAT may not be on as default.
Saying that though, not only have I binned the homehub, I have binned BT internet totally now and with O2.
Yeah only with BT as we got a Great deal with them and a free homehub, Gonna try it and see how it goes, If it is crap i will just plug the old Router back in

Find out who makes the homehub 2,( it used to be philips) and your model number and try to open a dedicated port for it.
This site has good guides. http://portforward.com/

Mine is hardwired into the homehub and it's fine.
I took my xbox round a mates and we hooked it up to his with no issues too.
I once had a problem, but a quick phonecall to the Indian Call center and they'll fix it for you in 3 minutes

me and my bro both have our Xbox's connected to the Home Hub but when his logs in to Xbox Live its boots me out and say it can't connect!
I havn't bothered messing with ports or anything as i don't know what to do :o
Please help as it is really getting on my tits and i don't think the hub will survive another beating from me :smash:
I think i have sorted it now, have done some post forwarding thanks to the link that Danny put up
