I'm not mocking your friend mikey, but it's only fair people should know what i think about RK Engineering, as they are only down the road from me.
Firstly, it's fair to say the guys down there are really nice
The RR however, is a bit pants :( it over-reads massively, and that's if traction is possible :(
It will struggle with anything over about 240hp. My stage 1 S14a span as soon as it came on boost, and required 3 fat people to sit in the boot to get a figure. Even then, the figure was 'optimistic' to say the least (305hp i believe).
Have seen a skyline down there spinning through gears and producing figures from 300 up to 450 hp depending on amount of spin :wack:
And, when my mate (Porker!) had lean running problems, they couldnt find the issue. I drove down there myself with some carb cleaner, whipped out the AFM, sprayed it, and cured the lean running issue :wack:
Above said, nice guys who do try their best it would seem with very reasonable prices  i just personally wouldnt maybe use them as a professional tuning option for your Datsun

rolling roads been sorted now mate i know wat ur on about i had issues with mine on it and porkers afm was a known issue simon rung me up while i was in greece asking to borrow mine to see if it was totally fecked he cleans mine with carb cleaner every time i go there as a precaution.
in comparison clouder i brought my 200 from torque imports within 3 weeks the big ends had gone took it to ap motors who then fobbed me off with all sorts of reasons it wasnt running right then eventually said the engines fubared. I then went back to torque as my warranty only covered 700 notes and after threatening court action they said take it ap and theyl sort the extra cost it then took ap 3 months to finally get my car back to me only when my mother who worked for eagle star insurance threatend to call the insurance ombudsman if the insurance co didnt sort it when she called them ap hadnt even called them for 2.5months. and even then the c-unit charged me £500 to get my car back so rk in comparison seems to be sound honest and reliable

ha ap motors i had a bg chassis 323gti they fitted another engine to it for me fair enough i got it cheaper £250.00 but bolts were left loose and when i fired it up to take it home the fuel rail was leaking like a siv, theyd not used the washers and crushed all my injectors. do not go there lol trust me.

last time i spk to si hed said theyed been sorted tbh it dosent really matter wat power it comes out on there rollers anyway its just more convenient for mapping and i know hes shit hot at that ive been there when hes been doing the emeralds i dont fancy paying like a grand plus though for one of them though anyways im just saying for purely a genuine non rip off quality of there service i couldnt ask for more
yea i got him to do my walbro, top job and only charged 25 quid which was really good price, even made me a cuppa whilst i waited :wack:

The main thing is that you have found a garage that you trust and are confident in. I bet most of us on here are not in the same position:(

Its not the equipment that's the problem its the operators.
I have had stories from lots of people now saying both ap and aj are dangerous. Now for the cost of replacing my engine it makes much more sense to travel up to london or birmingham and have someone you can trust working on your car.
I would go aj again for a rolling road shoot out but nothing more. Saying that though at the last rr day alex's stevesadler map got wiped and he also tried leaning out my fueling by fitting carb jets into the boost pipe for the fuel regulator.
Tipton garage are by far the best people in the southwest, but they're rollers only read to 240, saying that though they could probably tune better than the rest by looking at afr's and then road tuning the last bits of the map

AJs is great IMO never had any issues and a great after service is you have any problems or dont like anything
