Hi chaps, I'm just looking for a little expert advice, hope you don't mind :)

It would seem my GT28R has a built in oil restrictor, arrow points to pin hole.....

And looking at the standard Nissan oil banjo bolt that bolts into the engine block it would seem that to has a built in restrictor.....

The restrictor hole in the turbo is much smaller (almost half the diameter) of the restrictor hole in the engine block banjo bolt.

With my aftermarket braided hose line kit I asked for a set of new banjo bolts at an extra cost. It seems the new engine block banjo bolt I got with the kit which replaces the standard Nissan does not have a restictor in it.

Should I run the standard Nissan oil banjo bolt, so in effect I am running two restrictors?? Which I believe most people inadvertently do because they buy new lines but stick with the Nissan bolts all round when doing a GT28XX turbo change.

My oil pressure peaks at 80psi when the oil is up to temp, at idle its around 30psi, so certainly not low.

I look forward to your reply.

Cheers :)

The GT28R is designed to run on the standard vehicle and it would appear the standard cars have a restrictor at the block as you pointed out. With that in mind we'd suggest running the original Nissan banjo bolt. If you want to be doubley sure run the unrestricted bolt and see if the car smokes...if it does then you can simply over to the restricted bolt.
