am i right in thinking that any s13/s14/s15 headgasket will suit a redtop s13 sr?
i know the vvt engines have an extra oilway, just wanna check that theres no special one for the redtops?
does it matter if my headgasket has a bore of 87mm when my cylinders are only 86.5mm?
also, i believe the cosworth gaskets to be good, and fairly cheap too. anybody any opinions?

Yeah all sr gaskets are fine to use and it is ok to have a bigger diameter gasket

What if you have 90mm Pistons... How does the HG work in that instance!?
*edit* Just answered my own Question. HKS Gaskets are built to accomadate over sized pistons.

Thank you guys for clearing that up.
Is there anyway to test if a hg has failed? I had no compression in a rebuilt engine but it ran absolutely fine. Also had water in the oil so thought it was cometic hg had failed but now suspecting it's my turbo leaking water into oil

Block the Water pipes to and from the turbo. That way you'll know :)

Well yeah, but I'm gonna have to flush the old oil out somehow before I can try that. For the moment i've removed the turbo and gonna try and take it to a local turbo place and see what they said. Just doesn't seem right that 2 different engines I've had in have both ended up with water in the oil, and the only common part between them being the turbo
