Hi all,

My little brother is looking for a sponsor for his kart racing and I wondered if any of you guys could suggest anyone?

Matthew is 12 and has just won the "Racing for Buttons" championship. He has won the novice trophy in all of the races he's done so far, in spite of having to have the plaster cast taken off his broken arm for one of them!

He's being doing Comer class so far but he is about to move to WTP. The kid has massive potential (not me being biased, I've read all his press cuttings and he's impressed a lot of people) but now he's restricted by budget. I'm sure he'll go far with the right sponsor and earn any investment they make in him, but it's knowing who to approach. I know one of his main rivals is sponsored by the local McDonalds and hoped we could do better!

If anyone has any ideas I'd be really glad to hear them

Hopefully

My cousins kid is about 15 now and he's just moved to single seaters after a successful karting career for the last seven or eight years. He's just starting to get some sponsorship now but it's cost Ken thousands to keep him competitive as he's gone up through the classes. It comes down to, there are more talented kids out there than there is sponsorship money. So, be prepared for a lot of knock-backs, explore every avenue you can possibly think of, and treat every tenner that comes in as a victory! Everything is acheivable though :)

Good luck. Don't have any money but can put you in touch with a man who might know someone.
If you would PM me your email address I'll send it to the guy (he's one of my clients so I can't pass his details out) - no promises but you never know...

Would be interested in finding out more about this form of racing - esp whether the competitions need publicity...
