Watched it tuesday night, i work at a cinema so i had a 400 seat screen all to my self and i have to say it rocks... I would say its as good as the first one but we know what to expect, whereas with the matrix there really werent that many good yardstick films... Whereas now were all wireworked out...

overall though its ace!!!

I've just got back from seeing it and thought a lot of the effects (Trinity going out the window and Neo under the mountain of Smiths in particular) looked very plasticy and fake. The first film was a lot better imo.

I don't think they tried too hard. I have a couple of decent google groups url's to share which I don't remember and my lift is here momentairily. There's stuff that happens in it that I wasn't aware of immediately after. Anyone watch Matrix last night? More stuff 'clicks' in that after watching Reloaded :)

The two links I read were:
(and these contain spoilers so don't click these unless you HAVE SEEN the film! :D )

If ya do decide to read 'em, don't forget to go from the 1st post in the thread (on the left frame) coz it seems to randomly dump you in the middle of someone's reply (?!)

Usually movies come out later in Belgium. Guess we were lucky with the Matrix. It came out last Thursday. I went to see the movie with bottom expectations and ended up enjoying it.

Some great visuals but I am starting to get a bit sick of the use of CGI just for the sake of using it. At times you think you are actually watching a computer game. Not as bad as the last Bond movie but close.

I went to watch it last night with a low expectation cos people had told me it wasn't all that but I thought it was a fantastic film!

odd thing to say considering that Reloaded and Revolutions are one film, split into two halves.

Agreed.

I also thought the film was pretty shit basically. I wont be bothering with Revolutions and i was never a fan of the first one. I also find it amazing that everyone raved about the first one, when they did nothing but steal idea after idea from Popular Anime movies.

Oh wells, just my 2 nicker.

I think it's entertaining buy has been overly hyped hence its getting overly criticised.

Terminator 3 will be better tho

I don't think it's the hype so much as they've just copied loads of stuff out of the original. Bullet time is hardly new any more, the hold-out-hand-and-stop-all-the-bullets move was done in the first film. They've also tried to put comedy and romance bits in it which I thought got in the way of the action parts.

I'll go and see the 3rd film but I don't hold out much hope for it being anywhere near as good as the first.

they had continuity errors too, but its an action flick, you have to grate through the cheese (and dancing)

but what else were they gonna do other than be similar to the first one in their techniques?

voodoo_melon

Nothing wrong with using *similar* techniques, but a lot of them were the same as the first film. As far as I remember the only new thing neo did was fly.

The twins were quite cool though :)

stoofer
26-05-2003, 15:58
yeah but X2 did that with nightcrawler ;)

and he flew at the end of the first film, altho the effect of him taking off was new ;)

Watched Matrix Re-loaded on saturday (had to sit right at the front  )

Overall I think I bigged it up too much because I was expecting a brilliant film... but i thought the special effects were brilliant!

the story line however was not that great

IMHO
