View Full Version : Hotels in/near Swansea
I've got my passport and all my jabs up to date and I'm heading over the border into Welsh Wales next Tuesday. Can anyone recommend a place to stay in or near Swansea please? :)

something a bit out of the ordinary is the St James' Hotel in Walter Road - has a fantastic Austrian Restaurent attached ( Mozart's ) my folks used to stay there when visiting me a student :)
How close to the centre of Swansea do you want to stay and how much do you want to spend??
I don't mind how far out of town because I am off to Camaerthen the next day. Spending wise, less than £100.

Its also the only place to go after 3am if your insane/old/on something/a student!
mad,I did nt even know it opened for food?
The pavement outside is plastered in spew most mornings so i would nt have thought it attracted many diners:D
how much you looking to spend?
Dragon hotel and marriot are the main places, 2 travel lodges and a well pricy place called morgans.
If your looking for a classy place try patricks in mumbles:nod: or any b+b mumbles way, their all really nice.
King arthur hotel on the gower is nice too.

This place is round the corner from my house and local pub.
Its owned by some well eccentric swingers.
Seriously.:indiff:

I've not got the Scenic any more - one of the best things about handing my notice in at my last job was handing the keys back to that shit heap :D. I'll be in the BMW, on 40p a mile, so I'll be sure to check out the mountains
Thanks for all the recommendations - I'll check them all out :)

There is a brand spanking new Travel lodge in the centre of Swansea, no on site parking but there is secure parking 100 yards from the front door (very easy to get to and use)
It's easy to get to from the M4 also.
There is also a Premier inn just around the corner from the travel lodge this is located right in the heart of nightlife central though, but the rooms are not noisy at all
Parking is also at the secure car park right alongside.
If you would rather have a quiet night and be right alongside the M4 then there is a express holiday in that is situated just off junction 43 of the M4, this has a Harvester restaurant and Bar right alongside it too.

Never stayed there but have used PTIs elsewhere. Some are good, some are "not so good".
I've got an appointment at 10am in Swansea, so I'd like to stay fairly handy to there if possible. I hate Travel Lodges and Premier Inns though so I will be avoiding them. I do quite like the look of Parc le Breos  :)
I'll rent you my sofa for £100 :p

The Village inn would be the perfect place for you then
On the main road from the M4 to Swansea centre
Parc le Breos is fully booked for Tuesday night
I'll try the Village Inn tomorrow. Looks like I may require a sofa at this rate after all if that's booked :wack:
I've got a spare bed for you if your stuck mate - i'm just outside Swansea and you're welcome to come and stay.
I managed to get in at the Dragon, but cheers for all the offers :notworthy
For anyone interested, the Dragon is a bit posh!!!

Some of the rooms there are top notch

I knew you were going to say that :whip:
I only paid £70 for it . I'm claiming it back on expenses, but I'd pay that out of my own money for that standard of room

Do you know what the lottery numbers are on Saturday too? :D
Yes, but I am not telling you :p
