My old man is looking to buy a RX8 either import or new UK spec. Anyone got any knowledge of them?

Must say they look soooooooo cool :cool: 240hp standard arent they? His main worry tho is that he bought an Audi TT 225 and it was uncomphy as fcuk, even i couldnt stand it, the seats were like sitting on a cold stone. Just wondering if the RX8 would be the same or something more comphy.

Also the RX7 TT is tempting me a hell of a lot any decent info on them, 60k engine rebuilt isnt it?, how good/bad are they, and how do they handle.

With both cars the obvious problems are going to be the engines. Like you say I think they do need a rebuild at relatively low miles, guess it depends how well they are looked after. Not sure it the RX8 uses the same engine or not??
Like with any rotary engine though, if it goes wrong its going to cost you.
Still RX7 does sound tempting though:D

AFAIK the new RX8 engine, has sorted out all the problems of old "so they say :rolleyes: " and you now get about 28 to the gallon

TT 400hp 9k :thumbs:

I had a go in a RX7 TT a few weeks ago, sounded awesome, only problem is that it def is NOT designed for tall people, im 6 foot 1ish and could barely fit in. Plus my leg kept getting stuck between the steering wheel and the centre console :)

I'd have one for the noise alone :)

once that ****el engines goes, its gonna cost you more than the cars worth 2 fix it, rx7's on paper should be massive, but its the lack of knowledge of ****els that has restricted their growth outside of the anal retentive quarters of japan. I presume the RX8 has a ****el in it?is it 1.3 again?!

Took a stroll down to my local Mazda dealer the other week and have a test drive booked in one as soon as they get their demonstrator :D

Absolutely no intention of buying one, just fancy a drive :D :D

Light aircraft can be found powered by Subaru piston engines :)

A rebuild to standard should cost less than 2k, so not that bad. Having said that who would get a standard rebuild its the ideal time to get a monster :D

I have one, so am speaking from a bit of experience though I havnt needed mine doing yet :cool:

No I have an RX7, dont think id want an RX8. They seem a bit girly and theres no turbo :D

dunno bout that dave, but the old lamborghini diablo had funny opening doors too, and i wouldnt mind owning that............
