Took the other car in for a MOT test on Friday, flew through up untill the emissions. What i didn't realise aout diesel's is that they need to thrashed every now and then to clean the exhaust and fuel system out. So the bloke shoves the probe up the exhaust, his mate in the car floors the throttle (this is a bloody scary moment in a diesel, the engine is practically bouncing off the limiter). 25,000 miles of soot jet out of the exhaust and the bloke holding the probe dissapears. He comes out of the cloud splutering with his face totatlly black, except for his eyes.
Foutunately, he saw the funny side of it, i was wetting myself with laughter. He had to strip the prode down afterwards, as my car had coated all the optics inside the probe. That will teach him to fail it for emissions.
