I just got back from Athens, and I have to say that it's a city with absolutely NO nightlife, at least for a solo traveller. Okay, let's be more exact, I didn't want to pay for company and didn't want to spend my time & money in titty bars...
Sooo, there's not _ONE_ decent pub or bar in the whole fookin city! All they've got are those sucky street cafes/restaurants, and in those you can surely drink your beer alone. Oh yes, there was this one place almost like a decent bar, but there the beer cost 7 euros for a small (0.33L) bottle of Heineken! I never paid that much for a small beer even in a nudie bar! And even if I did, I at least got to see some titties! :D
Oh yeah, I ended up in this techno hell (called +SODA) on friday. Apparently I was there too early (00:30), because I was the first customer. After two drinks (á 10 euros) and 1-1.5 hours of waiting for people to show up, I got fed up and headed for the hotel. It needs to be mentioned that the other of the drinks (á 10 euros) was supposed to be Long Island Ice Tea, but it tasted like Ouzo and Tequila mixed with some lemon or shite like that. I drank less than half of it before I left.
Not to just badmouth the shite city, I have to say that Acropolis was quite impressive and the food at McDonalds rather good. ;)
