cant afford another 200 [Archive]

My dads just been busted with 6 points on his leicense, so I cant get insurance in his name. My cars have always been in his name and only costed £400 for insurance on the 200
To do in my name is £1100
Also being a student with a crappy part time job dont help and loosing bout £1500 on my 200.

I'm gonna get a toyota corolla gti, insurance only £600 in my name and very cheap to run and still pretty nippy.

Should be another year before I graduate providing I pass this year and i'll have an honours degree in Biochemistry:D

Why don't you get a MK1 MR2 to keep it RWD, its the corrolla engine so insurance will be the same.

eveything on my 200 is sold. I've been well lucky, including everything I've bought and done to the car, including the car itself, cost me £2200
I've sold everything for £930, so I think I'm doing ok. Theres a guy on my street owns a TVR and is selling a golf gti, lowered, 17's, looks nice and is £900. I think I'll go for that

Oh and next year, my cars gona be re-in-carnated:)
I think my car looked soooo sweet and did not get the chance to show about in it. So come next year, I'm gonna get a cheap 200 and its gonna be the same, I'm gonna put some side-skirts on it. I think it will look nice with the pre-facelift bumber
Got it all planned out, got to save up £1000 aswell

Also with the golf I should be able to sell it for the same price in a years time, it is a bargain!

cheap 200 - £600
wheels - £600
lowered - £100
side skirts - £300
re-spray - £500

total £2100

then the mods will come on slowely and not all at once

its got a zorst and filter and chip, lowered lots (very stiff setup), vented grooved and crossdrilled discs with pagid fronts. 8 alpine 8inch components in custom door mounts... pretty much immac condition interior and outside aint toooooo bad, but has a few scabs here and there.

Its just gone through its MOT - failed on the first attempt on a split gator and a tiny bit of welding under a skirt... then straight through

its done 149k but its still solid as a rock engine wise.

I had a recon power rack, driveshafts, clutch and other bits done when i owned it. He's had very very little trouble with it in the time he's had it.

Oil is changed every 6k without fail for semi-synth.

Dunno what he's after but its a very very good lil car, getting rare now as you know and still drives absolutely superb.

I loved it to bits, matty loves it even more - and its only a pulsar thats pursuaded him to part with it

I loved my one aswell. pretty much same as yours, had multi spoke alloys and had the gxi front bumber on it. They handle so well aswell
Its got pretty high mileage, but if price is ok I will maybe go for it. As soon as my hand gets better, I'm gonna need a car.

i sold it to him for about £1600 IIRC but it only had 100k on the clock then.

Matty uses it to and from work - which is all motorway miles so the mileage isnt as bad as it sounds. It doesnt get a hell of a caning either cos matty drives like a girl lol.

I dont know hom much he's gonna be askin, think its just "offers" but he has got someone else interested - very interested... who's coming down to see the car mid june

oh yeah, and it went STRAIGHT through the MOT before last

and he has it tuned every 6 months or so to make sure she's running spot on, has all the Crypton Tune figures etc (or he should have) and its always set to spot on idle

platinum plugs in it too.

like Arry says they are v.rare...and i only know of 1 other in the UK which ive seen in this 'v.limited sparkly black paint'

Its got about 160bhp est...and low sevens 0-60 times...yes i drive it like a girl as arry says...so its not thrashed...

I have some guy coming down from scotland on the 14th of nxt month to view and possibly buy...hes offered £1200, sounds a bit of a GTI-16 nutter...as hes had around 9 before...dont ask lol...

You can have second dibbs if you are interested...?

Hey if it makes u feel any better, we think we found out what was causing ur poor idle, one of the spark plugs was in two bits, found that out today when i was gonna stick them in Martins till he runs his engine in.
