Im still shopping around for quotes to get my bumper resprayed and my keyed door fixed. Today I decided to visit my Nissan Dealer. The conversation went something like this:

Me: 'Im after a quote for some paint repairs, mines the damson 200 out front' (note there was only 1 200 around)
Service Guy: 'is this your car?'
Me: 'Yes'
[service guy looks at the bumper]
Service Guy: 'have we seen this car before?'
Me: 'No.'
Service Guy: 'we'll need the VIN for the colour code'
[I unlock the car - service guy stands by the drivers door and doesnt move - I get in the passenger side, lean over and pop the bonnet]
Service Guy: 'I'll let you open that as you've probably done it before'
Service Guy: 'Is this a 200 or a 300?'
Me [thinking wtf?]: 200.
[I open the bonnet, he gets the colour code]
Service Guy: 'SX?'
Me: 'of course it is'
Service Guy: 'how do you find the car?'
Me [still thinking wtf?]: 'very nice, very fast'
Service Guy: 'it's rear wheel drive, isn't it?'

Now, cmon Nissan, really. cant identify your own cars? even if the quotes cheap I'm not sure I should go with them, they'll probably spray it pink. :tosser:

Went to local Nissan dealer as thinking about getting another 200.

Sales rep sees me parking mine, lets me wander round for a few minutes then comes out and asks if he can help.

Me: Looking for a newer 200.

Rep: Mmm - don't get many Rover's in here.

Me: About turn without another word.

Wtf is going on when they don't even recognise their own cars?

Went to the new dealer that opened, it is ajoined to a Renault dealer and share the same parts desk. Asked for a quote for some parts on my 200......"is that a Nissan Sir, or a Reno??":rolleyes:

I had to get a small repair done on mine recently - small ding in the nearside real wheelarch (small, but whole rear quarter respray). Got a quote from my tried and tested repairer: £210. Had to provide two quotes of course, so went to another repairer and my Nissan dealer (cos I knew my original would be the cheapest then ;) ). Other repairer: £280.

Nissan dealer took two weeks to get the quote to me and guess how much?

my lowest quote at the moment is £600 + vat :(

but this is for completely stripping & respraying front bumper & fixing keyed door (needs blending into rear quarter) & cut & polish whole car...

I know it'll be nice after that but still pricey :/ Id rather spend it on going faster.

anyone know anyone in the midlands whose door I should be knocking down?
