Is there an optimal place to locate a radar detector? Just bought a Snooper s5-R and although I've messed about with where it is located on the windscreen, have been very dissapointed at how much advanced notice it gives me to gatso cams! (talking 10 metres as oppossed to a couple hundred as I was hoping for!)

Most laser detectors are poor at detecting gatsos from any meaningful distance. I have an 815 and it's frankly crap at that. Your only solution is to do what I did and buy an Origin Bluei or the like that have all the fixed cameras stored in memory. Run both and you're covered every which way.

As regards positioning, middle of dashboard with nothing interfereing with visibility of the road ahead is best (no wipers or pillars in the way etc.

Anybody heard/had any experience with these?

Recent review was good-ish. Detection was good but mirror finish not so good.

S'pose it's a 'get what you pay for' type thing.
