Just read Nathans thread about his trapped vacume pipe, and it reminded me of something that happened when I had the S13.

Basically I had just re-routed the pipes to make way for a different boost gauge. I took the car out for a blast to check the boost level on the new gauge. Sets off from a set of lights - full throttle, 2 black stripes, change to second as the car hit the limiter, the stripes stopped for about 5 meters and then carried on :D

Approaching a roundabout, flat out in 2nd I lift off to slow down, but the accelerator came back up, but the car kept going

Knowing the obvious danger, I dip the clutch and the car hits the limiter, but at least the brakes where now working a bit better and I was slowing down. Still on a panic as the car bounced off 8200rpm I shut the engine off at the ignition and pulled the car over.

Popped the bonnet and saw the vacume hose I had re-routed had jammed behind the throttle linkage on the side of the inlet at full throttle and jammed it wide open!

Pulled it out checked the linkage moved open and closed OK, and continued on.

Just thought Id share that - it scared the shit out of me when it happened though :D :D

LOL I bet it did!!

I did something with the throttle linkage as well :D

When we were at the Bury St Edmunds meet, I was showing people the pigeon noise that the S14 makes without the recirc and I pulled up the throttle cable and it let go. It got stuck under something and carried on revving it's nuts off!! V scary moment for a second there until I freed the cable! lol
