Pop ups in messenger - part II

Ok folks,

couple of night ago I had a moan about getting
pop up messages through messenger, and got
some pretty useful answers :D

however, it seems like everytime i switch the 'puter
back on, messenger starts itself again, and the pop
ups start again,

Can i switch if off permanantly ?? and if so how,

If you go back to the services.msc and the Messenger doobrey again, make sure its "startup type" is set to Disabled, and that the service is stopped also :)
