you can take all the keys off and clean them all seperately, which is also the only way to get all the gunk out underneath...

or sod that for a game of soldiers and buy a new keyboard for a tenner.

Nah its a nice one thats really heavy and makes a proper clicky noise. Its just the tops that are dirty, underneath is ok.

The one ive got was only about a fiver, weighs **** all and is shit.

if you take the keys off use anything, if you leave them on use stuff that isnt too liquid...

Stick it in the sink with some warm soapy liquid, once you've given it a damn good scrubbing put it on a rack type thing upside down and let it drip dry for a good day or so.

Did this with mine about a year ago and its worked fine

not had any noticaahudiojwhoijw wdbdsoiuja ouahsijpok[

I have an old IBM clicky keyboard that i've had for about 10 years. Over that time i've wrecked countless cheap and nasty keyboards. The old IBM one has survived several gallons of spilled coffee, fag ash, fag burns and beer spillage.

Best way to clean them...

Take the keys off and put them in one of those net washing machine tablet bags.... throw the bag in the washing machine or dishwasher and they'll come out sparkling. Clean the rest of the keyboard with windolene (thats what's used in the factory when they're made).

Ive got a IBM one on the floor, paid 50p for it, I prefere it to this one, but it doesnt have a windows key. Spose I could live without it though.
Think ill take the keys off and clean them with warm water, possibly soapy. Rest of the keyboard is ok.

Cheers,

Richard

The best way I've found to clean a keyboard (providing it's not absolutely filthy) is to use a dish brush you can get for a few pence from a supermarket. Dip it in water, shake off the excess then rub the keyboard. Best thing for getting in between the keys. Doesn't take very long either. Obviously if the keyboard is heavily soiled with years of shite then the full-on "take the keys off" method is best, but for a quick clean and for keeping your keyboard clean after you've done a big cleaning job, the dish brush is the one

There is a utility (which funnily enough was written for IBM keyboards which don't have a windows key :D) which lets you use any key you like, or combination of keys to emulate the windows key. I think the right alt or something is the default setting in it.

Those IBM clicky ones are WELL expensive now!!! You can still buy them for about £60-70. They've become really fashionable recently (if such a thing is possible) as they'll take ANY amount of abuse! lol

Yep we have 3 crappy ones and 3 IBM bricks, replaced the crappy ones at least 3-4 times and IBM ones are black with grease, brown with dried coffee stains and sticky keys but they still operate well

I'm sure you can emulate the windows key but Fawk knows how, suggest you go to Microsoft help for that then slag the spawny eyed parrot faced wassock gates for producing a shite OS
