Monitor Dilema!

right @ the moment i have a FREE 21" thats kept me happy for the last couple of years. and with my new comp. its brilliant however, a severe lack of space makes me want to geta TFT. BUT neers size i can get without going into rediculous £££ territory is an 18" @ just under £500 and being DVI connect with 20ms response time. but it isn't big enough really so i was thinking of getting 2 but that doesn't help[ me when i want to watch DVD's! does anyone know if someone has succesfully "ajoined" two tft screens by this i mean take them out of the housing and make a custom housing for them so it wud be 2 x width of 18" or possible 17" cuz 18" very expensinve to buy 2. cuz my card will support 2 monitors 1 thru the 15 pin and 1 thru dvi either using the dvi or dvi converter to 15 pin any thoughts??

I would've thought it'd be almost impossible to put two lcds together like that and not have a gap down the middle. Plus cheap lcds tend to be a bit pants, you've gotta spend a lot more to get a decent lcd than a decent crt. If it were me I'd stick with the crt unless I had to have an lcd, then I'd have a single 17/18".

well my i have 2x TV's both being 14" and my sisters nicked one of them. and plus my computer has the DVD in it.

thats what i thought, reason why i was thinking about taking them completely out of there house and frames etc sitting them as tight together as possible and hopefully not getting a gap down middle. and just get someone to make me a custom fram and housing for the two!assuming used 17" monitors which are roughly ~10.5" by 13.5" it wud then be if i had plonlked 2 side by side ~ 10.5" by 27" and if my pythagoras is correct that wud be roughly ~ 29" corner to corner wud that just then be an ultra wide screen 29":finger: :p ;)
