Does anyone know of anywhere, ideally local to Swansea, that does acid dipping to clean a block?

Yeh, when I used to work in Llandarcy we used to take larger items to them for work. Guess they don't think it's profitable enough on small items :(

Im sure there's a place in Cross Hands and Llanelli as well we used to use but I can't think of it at the moment.

You will find it very hard to find someone to acid dip anything. Health and Safety regs have gone mad over the last 18 months. You would not believe the safety precaustions and other requirements you need. The chance of some one getting hurt is so high that insurance commpanies are refusing to include it in the cover.

Get it sand blasted, well its media blasting now. Sand is almost never used.

Yeah but it was Lynne that gave him the idea originally :wack:

That's the truth.
Think she may have regretted it. :wack:

Vaughn, surely media blasting doesn't get the cylinder walls (waterjacket side) clean, does it?

No it wont do inside the water jacket. I was thinking for the outside of the block before painting it.

For the water jacket use electrolysis, no work scrubling or nasty chemicals, you can set it up in a couple of hours and it will be rust free in a short time.

If you want me to do a step by step guide let me know.
