Hi there guys and girls, was wondering whether we would be arranging a convoy for the drive over to cheltenham or maybe having a small meet at the end of this month to discuss?

Would be good to turn up with a few of us as it is quite a nice drive over there (have relatives in cheltenham) and could be a laugh :).

I myself have booked the friday off work so can travel over with the GF any time on that day

Will be good to see you all again and looking forward to a fun-filled weekend :sxoc:

I've also got the Friday booked off for travelling to the weekender. Convoy would be great if we can get a few people together for it. Worst case I'm sure there will be other convoys we could join up with. Last year I joined the Midlands members at the Oxford Services.

I'm still planning to take the Mazda so I may need to stay at the back :wack:

How's everything going with the move Schumi?

(yey! This webpage is no longer blocked at work! :) )

Haha, yeah luckily mine isnt blocked either otherwise i would be lost :wack:.

Move is all set for this friday, where we will get the keys but dont know what time yet as we havent been told - will depend on the sellers. Laura has also said she wants to pick the kittens up friday too, so we will have a couple of little gits running around our feet whilst trying to move stuff around :wack:.

Looking forward to it though, should be a laugh and once settled will no doubt get an invite out to the local guys to come round for a BBQ :)

Sounds like you’re pretty much sorted then. Just need to put some curtains up so the kittens have something to climb and occupy themselves with while you move your things in :)

Yep, what with the new sofas as well, they are gonna have a right old laugh. What is the reason for you not taking the SX to the weekender seagal, would have been great to see at again as it's a great example

I have no idea when other regions are making their way over, would be good to meet up with them too.

Thanks, only reason I'm not taking the SX on the weekender is because I really want to nail the Mazda up the hill this year :wack:

Looking at the East Midlands Weekender thread, Kiz has mentioned a stop at the Oxford services like last time. Definitely options there if people are interested.

Yeah, all sounds good to me. If there is an easy place to get to for a few of us to meet up then we can meet the midland's lot.

Bet the Mazda is gonna love it up there

I will be leading anyone from Kent who is coming with me, round the M25 then down the M4 and up on the A roads from just before Swindon.
Could meet up with you guys somewhere on the M4 or somewhere around Swindon?

Will be leaving Kent on the Friday morning.

That sounds good to me ghazoobe, should heopfully be able to get there in good time and actually meet, unlike last time when we got to the services on the way to Duxford about 45mins after you left :wack: as we were late (sorry about that again).

Would it not make more sense to go M40 - A40? Route doesn't look as long.

If it's hot I don't want to be trapped in a car for longer than necessary as my A/C needs re-gassing :wack:

I don't think there is actually any discernable difference mileage wise.

I prefer the M4 way as I've been that way before and its always been pretty free of traffic.

So what are people's thoughts?

Reading M4 services?

schumi84
26-06-2009, 10:47
Looking at the route i would say the M4 route is a goer

Just need to work out what time to get there for. I'm easy to be honest as the journey i take to visit relatives in cheltenham only takes 2ish hours with a bit of traffic, can leave any time in the morning as long as the GF gets her arse into gear.

Reading M4 services at 12? that way if I leave at 10 I should be there between 11.30-12

Oh and btw, I'll be in a van, so no point looking out for a 200sx while you wait for me :)

1200 at Reading services sound like a good time to meet.

We may have to use Schumi as a meeting point as it looks like he is the only one going in a 200sx :wack:

Haha, sounds fine by me. I shall make sure that i leave in good time to get there in case of traffic etc :)

I dont think there is a set time to be there Gary, no. I reckon we will be there for about 1pm ish as the convoy will be meeting at 12 at the services. Will depend on whether everyone gets to the services on time, but cant imagine it being that far out time-wise :)

03-07-2009, 12:46
how are you getting to the services as i could prob crawl round with you if i can get matey out of central early doors, i could meet you at the car park? let me know times etc and also need to know about tomorrow Am mate....whats the plan as i have a crap load i need to do including painting a splitter....as i managed to axe mine off on a very dark road and the car look GASH without it on (as you will see tomorrow) i can be there whenever so let me know

Thats a pisser mate, sorry to hear about the splitter :(. We could meet up in the car park yeah, tbh to be able to get over to the services for 12 i would have thought meeting up at around 10:30 might be a plan, like i say, in case of traffic.

With regards to the gaskets, dont worry about it sir as you have too much to do with your car, i am going over to my uncles on sunday for the day and gonna give it a go myself using Aitch's guide, which now you remind me i need to print off at work

That is a right bugger Ninja :(

Just a quick recap, me and the hall will be meeting at the car park near Knoll roundabout at between 10 and 10:30am on friday morning so if anyone lives in that sort of area and wants to tag along, then you're more than welcome :). Getting there at that time should give us ample time to get to the services on the M4 where the next meet up will be at around 12.

Once everyone is there, then onward to sunny Glos :sxoc:

At the moment then the convoy looks like this:

Meeting at M4 services:

Seagal
essex convoy

Change as you see fit though guys, in case i have missed anyone. When were you going up Ninja?
