Any one know where I can get new disc's for my 93 180sx.

Im after groove/slotted types. front and rear!

If any one has the part numbers for red stuff brake pads as well that would be a great help:thumbs:

My 180SX (and I think yours too) uses S13 facelift discs and pads at the front...

Haven't changed the rear discs yet, but the pads are S14. I think the discs are S14 but drilled to 4 stud..

dont the 180sx use S13 calipers? so the pads would be S13

93 also still uses the drum/disc brakes at the rear so it would be S13 all round

Yeah I meant the whole front is S13 facelift

Mine has S14 rear pads, but I guess if you have drums you won't be needing any lol

I've also heard something along those lines but couldn't say for sure...

Try as per FOGHORN LEGHORN...

As a last resort maybe have to get some from outside UK?

Or get some S14 discs drilled?

no

a 93' 180sx use's the Disc and Drum setup just like the UK S13

it is S13 brakes all round, but to be 100% certain check where the hand brake cables goes, if it goes into the hub then you have S13 rear brakes.

if the cable goes to the caliper then its S14 rear brake setup so S14 discs and pads will be needed

Where can i get them out of the UK?

Also will giving apex a shout possibly yield any help?

It goes to the caliper

Looks like he has disc brakes so it's S14 rear as I said (like mine)... BUT will need to drill disc, as S13 180SX will be 4 stud...

just get S14 rear discs and get them Drilled to 4 stud its the cheaper option

To be honest I'd rather not bodge the brakes.

Agree - especially with import/handling tax and all the rubbish they charge these days :(

Ah well, if you really don't want to then the ones pictured are right in terms of studs but would just want to confirm the dimensions are the same for a USDM 240SX to a 180SX (probably are but not 100% so I'd check (possibly on a US SX site...))

Well my '93 had the 4 stud S14 setup.......

Drilling a 5 stud disc to 4 stud isn't exactly a bodge.......

dan at db power should be able to sort out something for your requirements if you explain what you need to him.....

I was about to say, I thought all 180's came with the S14 style rears.

It might be worth pulling the entire rear brake setup off a uk S13. Not that it'll offer better braking but it'll make parts easier to get.
Also if you ever upgrade to Z32 brakes, you'll have done half the work (as you'd need to transfer over the S13 or 300zx rear handbrake mechanism).

maybe i got my information mixed up, im sure i read that some early 180's came with drum rears maybe it was until 91/92 models

get a local engineer to drill the disc out for u, atleast then you can have some confidence in the work.

its been done on this forum before there is even a how to in the 5 stud conversion thread :)

Before 92 they had ca18det's fitted so it's possible the rears are the same as uk in those models but to be honest I've never heard of any 180sx coming with drums as standard

u and me both and i have seen 180sxs with sr20det pre 92 only ever seen one ca18det 180sx

ah well maybe im wrong, just seems odd they had different brakes for the same year cars.

Mines a '91 facelift and had S14 style rear brakes (due to hub conversion it now has S14 rear brakes :smash:)

My understanding is that all pre-facelifts were CA's while facelifts were all SR's :)
Suppose it's quite possible the facelift's had UK style drum/disc afairs for the rear

Even the JDM workshop manual for the 1989 CA18 180sx describes S14-style calipers

The changeover was the start of 1991 I think (so 89-90 was CA18DET). But sounds like they all had the same brakes, I think the regulations are different in Europe/UK perhaps.
