I've got a Samsung with a 8gb HDD and an SD slot for up to an extra 32gb, the picture is amazing :)
It's this one (http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=cameracamcorder&type=camcorder&subtype=flashcamcorder&model_cd=VP-HMX20C/XEU)

I have a JVC and hate it. Broken twice already and had to go back for repair. Cant recommend one but imho i would steer clear of the JVC.

I've got a Panasonic and its great, the only thing its struggled with was (and this could be operator error) is when I was shooting fireworks at night from a distance.
I filmed a thunderstorm in Florida last year and when I watch it back on my HD tv it looks as good as any test HD film I've seen.

I looked at that one but just ended up getting a Canon MiniDV camcorder due to lack of reviews. Probably should of got it in hindsight, but it is just SD not high definition like the original poster requires. Hence the low price.

I bought a Sony HDR SR10 before Christmas, and its been great, good features and great HD, if you have a PS3 then you can save all your video straight to an external hard drive and then just stream them to the PS3/TV.

I have the HMX20C version of this.

Used it to capture our wedding.

Simply stunning for a camcorder.

The picture was sharp, the sound was amazing.

Battery life is pretty poor - I get over an hour shoot time, maybe an hour and a half if I am lucky.

But to be honest when I was looking for small flash HD Camcorders the batt life was simmilar on them all.

Mine came with a load of editing software which is very good.

Tranferring the vids to PC was a snap, acts just like a usb stick to drag and drop files.

The only other trouble is even with a 2.4 P4 processor and 2.5GB of RAM I cannot play the full 1080 vids on my PC, it judders too much.

If I play it straight from the camcorder to the TV through composite or hdmi it is crystal.

EDIT: To get around the judder problem, I downloaded a program called Super (c) and converted them to a smaller size.

Then you must have the same one as me then.

I highly praise mine to everyone. The quality is so sharp, yet it is so compact!

Finally bit the bullet and got a full high def camcorder and love it. the only thing now is that my PC needs an ass kickin or replacing! it'll only play at 8fps and the camera shoots at over 50fps... D'OH!!!

Heh, I had/have the exact same issue.

If I connect the camcorder direct to the TV it is fine. Otherwise I used Super © to convert the video down in quality just to get them to play on the PC so that I could use the video editing software to stitch then together, then when I had a saved project, I swapped the source files out with the full ones, ran the job, then put it back on the Camcorder to play out of the TV.... :wack:

Canon HV30  It is what i use for shooting Downhill Films/Clips.

Super Sharp picture and sound is pretty good as well.

It is Tape though so not Internal Storage but IMO Tapes are better!

GoPro's are the best action cameras, full 1080p HD, waterproof, shock resistant, awesome!

I will be buying one soon :D

Ah yeah, i want one of them for a helmet cam as i don't fancy attaching the HV30 to my helmet when riding down some rough trails :wack: that could be very expensive
