View Full Version : Who is everyone supporting?
My friend works for Lola so we will be supporting all their cars including the new gulf/aston martin. The company i worked for made parts for pretty much all the top teams so im basically neutral. Just wondered if anyone is supporting any drivers for a particular reason or have a particularly favorite team?
See this thread (http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=410360) to see who I'm supporting :D
Anyone driving an Aston because they are a British company.
Anyone driving a Corvette because they are the best sounding cars on the whole grid :notworthy
Astons - I met the driver of last years 009 car at Goodwood last year. And hopefully going to meet the driver of this years one at Le Mans this year too :D

WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT!
The Lambo is possibly the best sounding racing car evarrr. :smitten:
Nope, the new Aston's will officially be the nicest sounding cars on the grid
I know something you don't know ;)

One of my all time favs was the Ferrari 333SP with a V12 F1 lump in it. It sounded awsome in the wee small hours through the woods at Arnage.

I will be supporting Lawrence Tomlinson and the rest of the Team LNT Ginetta/Zytek 09S squad
I worked on his house renovation last year and he is a top bloke, really down to earth and a good laugh
He won his class in a Panoz against the mighty 911's so I just hope he can pull off another shock and beat the derv's :wack:
Will be cheering on the Aston's aswell and all the other Brit cars & drivers :)

Don't get me wrong, the Lambos, Ferraris, Astons etc all sound great, but in a modern, high revving kind of way.
The 'vettes sound like real cars should -it's a sound that you feel as much as hear.
Maybe it's just because I'm getting old or that I only have one ear that works :D :wack:
Plus it's kind of cool seeing an old school, low tech (in relative terms!) push-rod V8 powered car beat some of the mega-bucks exotica out there...

They use a refined version of the DB9 V12 road-car engine and it maxes out at, I believe, 7500rpm  . To me, that is not 'high revving' .
And I'd rather see an Aston petrol V12 engine beat a fcuking Audi diesel any day of the week. It leaves a foul taste in the mouth to think that Le Mans has been tainted with the stench of diesel :indiff:

The original Panoz in the mid 90s was the ultimate rumble. It used to make the ground shake as it thundered by

well they will sound exactly like the existing lola as they have the same chassis and the same engine.

Hear hear!
I'd rather see a Westwood ride-on petrol mower win than a diesel :D
I tell you what though, love or hate them, the Diesels are amazing pieces of kit, and are something to actually behold being there.....The only percievable noise as they go past is the or air friction, and tyre noise, absolutely awsome!!!!

I agree- any noise through energy is a waste. Plus after 15+ hours last year of eaar bashing, the dervs ARE a blessing every time they go past :wack:
Staying at home this year for the first time in 3 years:cry:
House and marriage do that!
Have fun
