getting plagued by them
How the feck do I get rid of the little
barstewards ???? They are really
starting to annoy me now - grrrrrrrrr !!!
Please help :D
Try installing a firewall? Then you can BAN then, LOL.
I post a thread about firewalls last week or so, search for it for more info.
Dunc.
Control panel -> administratice tools -> services -> disable messenger
(this isnt MSN messenger, its part of admin help stuff that spammers use to popup... :/)

1) MSN Messenger != Windows Messenger
2) Install something like ZoneAlarms from ZoneLabs. (google search...)
stoofer is correct

But won't that stop me using messenger
I do have a firewall btw, just been checking that - Norton
Internet security thingy lol - not very good at this :o
no it wont stop you using messenger at all.
the 'messenger' I refer to is basically a new version of netsend in DOS if anyone remembers what that was... so admins can send remote messeges across a network.
disabling this service will not affect MSN messenger and will not have any negative effects on a standard home environment. :)
Ok, thanks for the help.
Found control panel, admin tools,
services, and have stopped the
messenger service :D
Fingers crossed they've gone -
will see, as they tend to come in
batches - like 10 in an hour, then
nothing for 2 hours
Appreciate the help :D

Is this the kind of Pop Up you are getting?
If so this is unrelated to MSN's Instant Messenger software, and is by default an active service on most windows platforms. An alternative way to stop it is to open a command prompt / dos box
(command or cmd from Start-> Run) and type 'net stop messenger' and press return (without the quotes).
