I'm just about to burn a load of tracks (downloaded mp3's) onto a CD to listen to in the car. How do I make sure that it copies them as normal audio CD files and not mp3's or similar. I've set-up a playlist lasting 68mins with 16 tracks.

Sorry for dumb question but its my first time

Don't know about Nero but on my software which came with drive (hp) it gives you the option of creating an audio cd (convert mp3's to audio files) or a data cd, ie straight copy. Like I said, don't know if Nero has something along those lines??

I heard that as long as you are creating a new Audio CD, then Nero converts them from MP3 but I'm not sure, not tried that one....possibly why there are only 16 tracks when you know file size wise, you could fit nearly 100 mp3 onto a data CD?...someone might know.

However, what I have done is to convert the mp3 into wav files first. Then use Nero to create an Audio CD, adding the wav to track list. This deffo works cos I've done it.

Think its the same mate, it said .mp3/.wav etc. and I thought it meant thats what it stored them as but it actually meant thats what type of files it converts to audio.

Should be OK, I've started burning :)

Thanks,

Dunc.

Its just 16 because I dragged 16 tracks over to the playlist, thats the only reason. It seems to just do mp3 to Audio, I'll find out in a minute!

Cheers,

Seems to have worked out fine, it was so easy that I thought something must be wrong

You just open the "create audio CD" window (option right at the start). Then drag tunes (of any format I think) from your hard drive onto the Nero playlist and then click "burn" when you've got you're playlist right.

I just got my CD-R drive last week so I'm not too sure how new a version of Nero it might be? Could be pretty new.

Dunc.

Thanks for the help.

BTW, well done to Nero on making what could be a complicated process extremely simple. Even a computer dimwit like me got it right first time :D
