:notworthy!

My first proper car was a white coupe S MKII - loes it!
Deck it, deck it good
Fit huge wide banded steelies with super stretch, silly offset, and that's all.
Done!

I still love these. My first car was a Polo mk2 breadvan. I lowered it 80mm, smoothed anything smoothable on it, drove it in to a mud bank being silly and sent it to the great v dub gathering in the sky :( RIP lowlow.

Well got the car back on the road MOT'd and now TAX'd - used it for about two days and somthings broke!
It needed a few bits for the MOT and got a new gearbox while it was in the shop - since I got it back I'v personly fixed the drivers door lock/handle so I can get in the bloody thing an I'v almost messed with the carb so it does'nt idle at 2k anymore
As for whats broken...pass, I was pullin up my drive when there were some bad noises I lost gear selection. Now its a 30k box on there and Iv unlinked the selector encase that slipped and I can get all the gears but the only way to get the engine going is with the clutch down. Either the clutch has gone or the gearbox has jammed mid gear.
Cock cock cock cock....
apart from that its loverly! lol

Next plan is to locate a injection engine for it and swap it while the missus is away (so she wont know what im upto! ) lol shouldnt be too expencive an i'll do it on my drive over a weekend.
Apart from that 40mm lower and some nice rims are on the cards i think.

I always fancied a G40 when I was younger, one day I might do something with this one, but not got the time or money at the moment, got 2 cars already, 3 would be OTT :wack:

I ran a Mk3 for 18 months, cracking little motor. Great for fun cheap motoring which is what i needed as I didn't want to use the 200 as a daily drvier :D

well besides my S14a, I've also got one of these as a daily driver >>>

the Polo is dreadful to drive in comparison, if I ever get it back in the road it will be getting an engine transplant, brake/suspenison upgrades, etc...

however at the moment it's a no go

Dude! You can get a full set of springs and dampers for one of these for about £125! :wack: The polo that Messydan posted was my old polo, it had one of the aforementioned kits on it!

Chuck me a pm and I'll send you in the right direction - I may well be pm'ing you about those carbs soon anyway...

Can't practically be done on these cars mate. The photo of the polo posted by messydan (my old polo) was lowered 60mm. On standard 13" steelies, it was too low to get tracking equipment over the wheels and too low to gte over the speed bumps at my work.

If you want a polo you can still drive, 60mm is the max you can drop it.

Try club polo mate, they're usually pretty friendly and there are a few guys on there that have done the carb conversion.

Have you got a fuel pressure regulator? If they're getting too much fuel pressure then they'll flood...

Have you got a fuel <a onMouseOver="javascript:window.status='pressure regulator';return true;" onMouseOut="javascript:window.status='';return true;" href="http://dingalone.info/?v=4%2E04&ss=pressure+regulator">pressure regulator</a>? If they're getting too much fuel pressure then they'll flood...

got a reg on it - still floods, recon the valves have gone or somthings blocked/jammed up becasue theres somthing not right with it. gonna strip um down next see whats up.
Ah well s'all most there - pootling round in a bloody 5 door focus hire car atm!

what fuel pump are you using, you obviously need a carb pump, and with a regulator as the standard car pump will be too powerful (even the mechanical one will be) dont forget that the bike will be gravity fed so any pressure is too much pressure for the floats. i think about 2 psi is ideal

the carbs as standard will probably be piss lean on a standard car engine as the car wont flow enough air to draw enough fuel with the standad bike jets, try dropping the needle or raising the needle on the slide, just take the top off the carbs, then pull the big spring then slide out, then the needle should be on a circlip, if you lower it you lean it off, and vise versa. will give you an idea if its lean or rich

apparently, when converting a polo to run on bike carbs, most people set up so that it runs in a circuit back to the fuel tank, placing a T-piece in the line, this then ensures the pressure actually getting to the carbs is relatively low... People have been doing this on club polo with no issues...
