My future bro in law and his gf are over from France with us this weekend. He's got a MX5. Now I've never driven one before and always thought they had a slight shirtlifter quality about them (and a special storage compartment in the boot for hairspray, comb, scissors etc).

Took it for a run this afternoon and though it's bloody slow in comparison to the 200 I thought it was an absolutly fantastic drive. Couldn't get the grin off my face. Balanced, poised, throaty roar, top build.

Won't dismiss them in future :thumbs:

My girlfriend has got one of the new 1.8 ones, I'm on the insurance and drive it quite a bit, I know they ain't got the best image for lads and ain't the fastest car around but they are a fantastic drive, plus they make a Jackson supercharger kit for them ;)

MX5 = Crackin car!! :D

i've driven one too - my ex had one for a while til her company took it back and gave her a lotus elise......didnt think it was that bad but i had to duck down in the seat to avoid detection and mess my hair up a lot so that ppl didnt think i was a trained stylist.

oh and yeah,

i was bangin her for the money:thumbs:

I been driving the wife's MX5 for the last week whilst the 200 is in the garage, they are quite good fun to chuck around, just a shame about the image

Me mum had one - I liked it and used to nick it from time to time, but it was quite bendy in the body I found. Nice and easy to get sideways though :)
But when you can buy a TR6 for 5 grand, who wants an MX-5?? :confused:
